Early life
Lee was born in Warren, Ohio. His parents immigrated from Korea to the United States. He grew up in Massachusetts and California. In 1990, he graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Although Lee was preparing to be a professional pianist, he decided he wanted to perform after attending a theater class in college.
Personal life
Lee is gay; he came out to his parents when he was 22 years old.
Lee said in an interview from 2011, that he was single and searching for something permanent, but that finding the right relationship was difficult.
Career
Lee had worked in various capacities prior to landing the Entourage role, including acting in the children's theater company, Imagination Company, and as a casting assistant. He was the casting director of The Cure for a Diseased Life. Lee has appeared on several television shows, including Twins, What About Brian and Maurice on two episodes of Zoey 101.
Lee played Lloyd Lee, Ari Gold's gay assistant, before becoming an agent and interim head of TMA's television department. Lee debuted in "The Boys Are Back in Town," the show's first episode, which introduced Lloyd as the replacement to Ari's previous assistant. In 2007, and 2008, Lee received the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor, Television at the AZN Asian Excellence Awards.
Lee appeared on the ABC sitcom Suburgatory's first two seasons as Mr. Wolfe, a clueless high school guidance counselor. In season 3, he appeared as one of the judges at Nationals in the Fox Television Comedy-Drama Glee. In 2014, he appeared in the ABC Family (later rebranded as Freeform) television sitcom Young & Hungry, where he plays Elliot Park, the publicist and "right-hand man" to a young tech entrepreneur named Josh. Young & Hungry ran for five seasons, before resigning in 2018.
Lee appeared on Fresh Off the Boat as Jessica Huang's college boyfriend, Oscar Chow, in an episode in 2015. In the 2015 "#ItsThatEasy" celebrity-themed television commercial campaign for website company Wix.com, Lee currently works as a talent agent.
