Reneé Rapp (born January 10, 2000) is an American actress and singer.
She is best known for her wining the Jimmy Award for "Best Performance by an Actress" in 2018 and her role as Regina George in the Broadway musical Mean Girls.
Early life and education
Rapp attended high school in Huntersville, North Carolina, where he spent three years in the theater program and on the varsity women's golf team before transferring to Northwest School of the Arts. Rapp's theater teacher, Corey Mitchell, said, "There's a difference between the vocal skills and sincere emotions that can move an audience and can actually compel an audience."
Rapp received the Best Actress award at Charlotte's premiere musical theater competition in 2018 for her portrayal of Sandra in her school's production of Big Fish. Rapp received "Best Performance by an Actress" at the tenth annual Jimmy Awards in New York City, defeating forty other applicants for the honor. She was awarded a $10,000 scholarship for her achievement. "I will never be as confident as the 18-year-old," actress Laura Benanti, who presented Rapp's award to Rapp, said. In addition, Rapp's winning appearance at the Jimmy Awards said she "set the stage ablaze," the magazine said, "prompting the actors of Mean Girls to collectively begin sleeping with one eye open."

Rapp was cast as Wendla in Theatre Charlotte's 2018 production of Spring Awakening, following her Jimmy Award nomination.
Rapp appeared at the 2018 Supergirl Pro Surf and Music Festival on July 27, 2018. Feinstein's/54 Below hosted the fourth annual Broadway Back to School festival on September 23, 2018. In December 2018, she wrote about Monteen's role in Roundabout Theatre Company's reading of Parade. Rapp performed at BroadwayCon's 2019 Star to Be festival on January 12, 2019, singing "They Just Keep Moving the Line" from NBC's Smash. She was last seen at Feinstein's/54 Below's 54 Sings on March 4, 2019, shortly after her appearance at the GIRLS Festival on March 28, 2019.
Rapp would play Regina George in the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical Mean Girls, first from June 7-26, then permanently starting September 10, 2019. After Tina Fey's introduction, Rapp performed at The Green Room 42, singing songs from the show. The performance came to a conclusion on March 12, 2020, in accordance with Broadway's closure; it was later announced on January 7, 2021, that the show would not reopen.
