Rene Medveek (born 21 June 1963) is a Croatian film and theatre actor and producer. * He was born in Velika Gorica, Croatia. He has appeared in more than ten films and several television series. * He is most well-known for his role as Serbian terrorist Vlado Miric in the 1997 action film The Peacemaker, to the international audience. Medveek was the stand-in host for Oliver Mlakar in the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest in Zagreb, when the latter resigned due to remarks made about his age at the time. Mlakar however continued to host the program. Rene Medveek's brother Sven is also a well-known actor.
