Reginald Ryedell Bullock (born March 16, 1991) is an American professional basketball player for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
He played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels before being selected by the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the 2013 NBA draft with the 25th overall pick.
Bullock has also appeared for the Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Personal life
Bullock has a son. Mia Henderson, Bullock's transgender sister, was assassinated in Baltimore on July 16, 2014. In August 2015, a criminal was arrested. "She lived as herself, she taught me how to be (myself)" Bullock said of his sister in August 2016. She taught me how to take care of the children; she was content to be who she was. She wasn't concerned about how others felt about her. To me, a person who can isolate the entire world and not worry about others' feelings is a good person. It was one of the most important things that I learned from her." Bullock continues to work on LGBT rights, teaching gay and transgender youth alongside Jason Collins, a basketball player who came out as gay in the 2013 edition of Sports Illustrated. As part of the LGBT NBA float, Bullock has also participated with his teenage son Treyson in the New York City LGBT Pride March. He was honoured at the GLAAD Media Awards and is active in the charity "NBA Voices for LGBT Youth and Allies." In addition, he appears in a documentary from Vice Sports in which he discusses his sister and his contribution to the gay community in her memory. He is also active in anti-bullying campaigns.

High school career
Bullock's high school basketball team, the Kinston High Vikings, played three state championship games during his high school career, winning two championship titles. They won the 3A title in 2008 and then won the 2A title in 2010. He was named Most Valuable Player during his 2010 championship match against West Caldwell, scoring a team high of 15 points. For the third straight season, he averaged 25 points and 11 rebounds per game from 2009 to 2010.
He was chosen to participate in McDonald's All-American game, where he was with Tobias Harris, Kendall Marshall, Kyrie Irving, and Jared Sullinger. Bullock participated in the Nike Hoops Summit, the Jordan Brand Classic, the King James Classic, and the City of Palms Classic.
Bullock appeared on the AAU circuit with the CP3 Allstars. The team won the Gold Bracket Championships, were runners up at Gibbons TOC, and the Final Four at the Knoxville Heat.
College career
Bullock committed to attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in January 2008, only after receiving a scholarship from the Tar Heels. Maryland, Ohio State, Wake Forest, and Indiana also sent him invitations.
He was sixth on the team in scoring and second-leading scorer off the bench at 6.1 points per game during Bullock's rookie season in 2010-2011. In a victory over Maryland on February 27, 2011, he strained the lateral meniscus in his left knee. On March 7 he underwent surgery to fix the injury, but he missed the remainder of the 2010-11 season.
He led UNC in three-pointers made with 71 percent and 38.2% in his sophomore season in 2011–12. He was the fourth-leading scorer on the team, with 8.8 points per game.
He was UNC's third-leading scorer in his junior season, averaging 13.9 per game. He was also ranked second on the team in three-pointers, rebounds (6.5), and third in scoring, assists (101), and steals (44).
Bullock played in over 100 games in a row, averaging 9.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 24.6 minutes per game.
Professional career
Bullock was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers as the 25th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft. He signed his first professional deal with the Clippers on July 11, 2013. He then joined the Clippers in the 2013 NBA Summer League. Bullock made his NBA debut against the Los Angeles Lakers on October 29, 2013, scoring two points.
Bullock was traded to the Phoenix Suns on January 15, 2015 in a three-team trade that also involved the Boston Celtics. In a 120–100 loss, he made his Suns debut against his former team, the Clippers, ten days earlier. He was drafted into the NBA Development League's Bakersfield Jam on January 29, which was the NBA Development League's Bakersfield Jam. He was recalled by the Suns three days later. He was recalled to the Jam on February 7. He was recalled four days later. Bullock scored his first basket for the Suns in a 110–96 victory over the Denver Nuggets on February 25, 2015.
Bullock, Danny Granger, and Marcus Morris were traded to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for a 2020 second-round draft pick. The Pistons exercised their fourth-year team option on Bullock's rookie scale deal on October 25, 2015, extending the agreement through the 2016-2017 season. He was assigned to the Grand Rapids Drive, the Pistons' D-League affiliate, on December 19. The Pistons recalled him the next day.
Bullock's rookie season was delayed until he was sidelined with another injury on November 25, 2016, having sustained a left knee injury against the Miami Heat two days before. After struggling with surgery to repair the left meniscus tear, on November 30, was ruled out for two to four months.
Bullock re-signed with the Pistons on July 14, 2017. In a 114-110 victory over the Orlando Magic on December 17, 2017, he scored a career-high 20 points. In a 93-79 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, he set a new career record of 22 points in a new career opener.
Bullock lost 113-103 to the Charlotte Hornets on November 11, 2018, scoring a career-high 23 points with six 3-pointers. He set a new career record with 24 points against the Milwaukee Bucks on December 17 before defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves on December 19 by 33 points.
Bullock was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and a future second round draft pick.
Bullock signed with the New York Knicks on July 16, 2019, and underwent successful surgery the next day for a cervical disc herniation. Bullock scored 11 points in his first game with the Portland Trail Blazers on January 1, 2020.
Bullock signed with the Dallas Mavericks on August 6, 2021. He made his debut on October 21, 2021, when the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Atlanta Hawks 87-113 for 87 points.
