Sports career and MMA
Mirzaev began training at the Sambo-70 sports club in Moscow, 2007. Mirzaev claimed first place in the World Sambo Championships' combat sambo division in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in November 2010, defeating Mongolian Baasankhun Damlanpurev in 30 seconds. Mirzaev was named Best Athlete of the Year by the Moscow Sambo Federation in the same year as the Moscow Sambo Awards in combat sambo.
Mirzaev's unbeaten career has left him undefeated. His current record shows he has won 14 victories and no losses. In a duel with Danil Turinghe in October 2009, his first victory was at the Battle of Champions in Elista. In June 2010, he defeated Marat Pekov at Fight Nights – Battle of Moscow 1. Mirzayev defeated Evgeni Khavilov at Battle of Moscow 3. In May of this year, he defeated Roman Kishev at United Glory 14: 2010–2011 World Series Finals. After a near-two-year absence in his MMA career due to his arrest, he returned to action in March 2013 and has since won 9 straight fights. Mirzaev competed for the Euro-Asia Featherweight Championship in the Fight Nights – Battle of Moscow 4 tournament in July 2011.
