Rainie Yang Career

Career

Yang began her career in 2000 as a member of Taiwanese girl group 4 in Love, where she was given the stage name Rainie. The group's success in the music market was limited. Yang continued to work in entertainment as a TV host, as a host on shows such as the variety show Guess, after disbanding in 2002. She landed the leading role in the Taiwanese drama Devil Beside You with Mike He in 2005 after appearing as supporting cast members in a string of Taiwanese television dramas, including the critically acclaimed pan-Asia's hit Taiwanese series Meteor Garden and its supplementary mini-series Meteor Rain. In the same year, she released "Intuition" as the theme song on Devil Beside You and "Ideal Lover."

Meeting Love, her second album, was released in 2006. Yang performed her last Guess episode on January 8, 2007, owing to her busy schedule and intense attention on her musical and acting careers. Yang co-starred in the lesbian-themed film Spider Lilies with Isabella Leong, aiming to portray herself as a "serious" actress. However, Yang returned to her previous cute appearance by appearing in the drama Why Why Love, starring Mike He and Kingone Wang, which aired during the summer of 2007. My Other Self was her third album, which came out on September 7. It includes the theme song from Why Why Love, "Lacking Oxygen," and the insert song "Perfect Example."

Yang collapsed heavily from the stairs on Sunday when filming the Taiwanese drama Miss No Good in San Chih, Taiwan, and was sent to Mackay Memorial Hospital in Taipei. The stairs were found between the third floor, where the dressing room was located, and the first floor, where the film set was located. The crew had assumed it was a light frame at first, but after hearing a groan, they realized it was her. Doctors diagnosed Yang's injury as a spinal contusion after an X-ray examination. After leaving the hospital, producer Angie Chai referred Yang to a Chinese massage therapist. Miss No Good, starring Yang and Will Pan, was broadcast during the fall and winter of 2008 and met with a lot of success. Miss No Good's fourth album, Not a Woman, features insert song "Too Much Trouble" and the theme song "Take Me Away" which were both included in this series.

Yang appeared in To Get Her with Jiro Wang of Fahrenheit and George Hu in 2009. Then she filmed The Child's Eye in Thailand, a horror film directed by the Pang Brothers with Elanne Kong, as well as the Taiwanese drama Hi My Sweetheart with Show Lo. Yang's fifth album, Rainie & Love...?, came on the New Year's Day of 2010. Yang first entered J-pop in 2010 by releasing a Japanese version of her hit "Intuition" as her first Japanese-language single, due to the success of Devil Beside You and Miss No Good overseas.

On April 23, 2010, Yang unveiled Whimsical World Collection, her first compilation album. It features three new songs, 35 previously released tracks, and 15 music videos from her previous five studio albums. She was named Best Actress at the 45th Golden Bell Awards on October 22, 2010, for her role as Chen Baozhu in Hi My Sweetheart.

Yang's sixth studio album Longing for..., which includes the song "We Are Silly," an interlude of Love You.

Yang appeared in the romantic short film Heartbeat Love with Show Lo in 2012. Wishing for Joy, her seventh studio album, was released on August 17th, 2012. Love Voyage, the singer's second concert tour, began on December 14th.

Yang unveiled her eighth studio album, Angel Wings, on August 23, 2013.

Yang signed to EMI Taiwan in 2014, a revived brand that is now a Universal Music Taiwan affiliate. A Tale of Two Rainie, her ninth studio album, was released on December 12, 2014. She appeared in the Chinese drama film Love at Second Sight earlier this year.

Traces of Time in Love, her tenth studio album, was released on September 30th. It was nominated for three prestigious Golden Melody Awards, including Song of the Year, Best Lyricist, and Best Single Producer for the title track "Traces of Time in Love." Yang also appeared in the top three prestigious entertainment awards in Taiwan, including the Golden Bell Awards (television), the Golden Horse Awards (film) and the Golden Melody Awards (music). Yang appeared in Life Plan A and B, a Taiwanese television series.

Rainie Yang attended the recent album autograph session on October 9th, 2016 and has stated that she favors the LGBT civil rights equal rights constitutionalization in the case. Yang was outraged to learn that homosexuality is not guilty and love is inherently gender neutral, although she has expressed the desire to continue acting in the gay roles in the future, it's the privilege to have the opportunity for interpretation.

Yang unveiled her eleventh studio album Delete Reset Grow on November 27, 2019.
