Rafael Grampá is a Brazilian comic book writer and producer.

Career
Grampá designed t-shirt designs, store logos, and children's party decorations at the age of 14. He became art director of RBS TV, a Rede Globo affiliate in southern Brazil, in 2001. Grampá moved to So Paulo, where he worked as animation designer and concept designer for the animation company Lobo (Vetor Zero), producing animation films and special effects. Grampá's in 2007 decided to abandon animation and concentrate solely on comics. He began Mesmo Delivery in 2008, which received the HQ Mix Award for Best Artist and Best Special Graphic Novel. Grampá and Gabriel Bá and Fábio Moon were nominated for their self-published anthology 5, the first time the award was given to Brazilian comic book artists.
Grampá's been writing and drew a number of short stories for Marvel and DC Comics, including "Dear Logan," which appeared in the Strange Tales II anthology collection, and a Batman tale for the Batman: Black and White series. Grampá has also produced several short films, including Dark Noir (2014), an animated film funded by Absolut Vodka and released simultaneously in 21 countries, and Romeo Reboot (2015), a live-action film based on Shakespeare's classic tale. Grampá and his partners founded Handquarters, a content design studio and production firm, where Grampá produced the live-action film A Geek Punk Story in 2017. Among Grampá's contributions to the 1986 DC Comics mini-series The Golden Child, written by Frank Miller, includes The Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child, a sequel to the 1986 DC Comics mini-series The Dark Knight Returns.
