Patrick Earl Houston (born February 8, 1973), better known by his stage name Project Pat, is an American rapper from Memphis, Tennessee.
Houston is Juicy J, the co-founder of Three 6 Mafia, and he joined the Kaze in 1998, the same year the album KamiKaze Timez Up was announced.
Career
Project Pat began his career with appearances on his brother Juicy J's early days with DJ Paul in the early 1990s. He re-emerged in 1999 with the solo album Ghetty Green, after several years in jail for robbery convictions and abstinencing from recording. He became a member of Juicy and Paul's group Three 6 Mafia, and first gained frog and ruckus when he anchored the group's hit single "Sippin' on Some Syrup" in 2000.
On February 13, 2001, Houston released his second studio album, Mista Don't Play: Everythangs Workin. The singles "Chickenhead" and "Don't Save Her" earned national radio airplay, as well as music videos on BET and MTV.
Houston was charged with a parole violation and began a four-year jail term after unlicensed weapons were discovered in his car during a traffic stop just short of being released. Layin' Da Smack Down was his third album and came shortly after the completion of the sentence, and it featured a video titled "Make Dat Azz Clap."
Crook by da Book, the Fed Story, which debuted on #64 on the Billboard 200, sold nearly 40,000 copies in its first week, after being released from jail in 2005. "Good Googly Moogly" was DJ Paul and Juicy J.'s first single off the album was "Good Googly Moogly."
After Houston was drafted from his Columbia contract, he signed with Koch, now known as E1. Walkin' Bank Roll, his fifth studio album, debuted at #45 on the Billboard 200 in 2007 and debuted at #45. "Don't Call Me No More" was the album's lead single, and Three 6 Mafia appeared on stage. Real Recognize Real was his 1st major release for Asylum Records, and it was his 6th major release. The album featured OJ da Juiceman's hit song "Keep It Hood." In the first week of its introduction, it debuted at #8 on the Top Rap Albums Chart, with around 10,000 copies being sold in the first week of its release. On July 19, 2011, Houston released Loud Pack, his 7th studio album on Hypnotize Minds and his newly formed label Project.
Houston revealed on March 28, 2013 that Mista Don't Play 2 would be his next album. E1 Music will also release the album, "Be A G" will be the first single and star Juicy J, as well as the late Doe B. Juicy J will produce half of the album. On E1 Music, the album was released on April 14, 2015.
Houston appeared on the J. Sims song Visa, which appeared on the Mattrix Mixtape: We're Going Worldwide, Vol 5 compilation, presented by Matthew Rix on August 15, 2016. M.O.B. is a mixtape that has been released by the artist. On September 8, 2017, it was announced.
Project Pat was featured on Drake's album "Knife Talk" on Drake's album Certified Lover Boy, which debuted at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021.
