She had appeared in numerous television and reality shows.Banerjee first gained recognition in 2010 in the television show Balika Vadhu.

Personal life
Pratyusha was born in a Bengali family in Jamshedpur city of Jharkhand to Shankar and Soma Banerjee. Her father is known social worker and runs their own NGO. In 2010, she left Jamshedpur to work in Mumbai.
Career
She began her career as a supporter on Rakt Sambandh, which was followed by her appearance as Valiant (the best friend of Akshara played by Hina Khan) in Yeh Rishta Hai on Star Plus.
She was chosen for the lead role in the Indian television series Balika Vadhu as an adult version of Anandi, replacing Avika Gora. According to the actress, she was chosen via a talent search, out-shining competitors Nivedita Tiwari of Lucknow and Ketaki Chitale from Mumbai. Banerjee appeared on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (season 5), following the success of the show. However, she left the dance competition, claiming that she was not at ease during the dance rehearsals.
In 2013, she was one of the show's most coveted contestants in the seventh season. She and her partner Rahul Raj Singh appeared in Power Couple, as well as her partner Rahul Raj Singh. Banerjee had a key role in Hum Hain Na, Sasural Simar Ka, and Gulmohar Grand.
