Early life
Taurus Tremani Bartlett was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Taurus Bartlett and Stacia Mac. Mac, a former property owner, acts as Bartlett's boss. He grew up in the Marshall Field Apartments, which were across the street from the Cabrini-Green Home. He is the second of four children, with older sister Taunch Baby, who is also a rapper under the stage name Trench Baby, and a younger sister. Bartlett was accepted into Lincoln University as a broadcasting major, but he didn't want to go on his first day, opting to pursue a music career full-time after high school. Career
"ODA," Bartlett's first song to be released on YouTube, was titled "ODA." He first released the song "Gang with Me" on SoundCloud in 2018, which quickly earned millions of views. With his albums "Welcome Home" and "Neva Cared," he's maintained his traction. Bartlett continued to perform "Finer Things," a song he wrote while imprisoned, in the second half of 2018, and quickly attracted millions of viewers. Bartlett released "Pop Out" starring Lil Tjay in early 2019, which peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song's music video on YouTube attracted over 200 million views and culminated in him signing a record deal with Columbia Records.
