Pierre Mauroy (5 July 1928 – June 13, 2013), a French Socialist politician who served as Prime Minister of France from 1981 to 1984 under President François Mitterrand.

Mauroy served as Mayor of Lille from 1973 to 2001.

Mauroy, the emeritus mayor of Lille at the time of his death, was emuus mayor.

He died from lung cancer complications at the age of 84 on June 7, 2013.

He is the namesake of Lille's new stadium, Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
