Pierre Marcolini (born in Charleroi in 1964) is a Belgian chocolatier who was born in 1966.
Professional life
He was employed in Belgium and France, including stints at Wittamer and Auguste Fauchon. He had trained as a chef-pâtissier.
He was named "World Champion Pastry Chef" in Lyon in 1995 and opened his first shop in Lyon.
He was inspired by the Lyonese's artistic methods, henceforth named as one of his mentors, along with pâtissier Gaston Lenôtre.
Nestlé acquired a 6% interest in the company in 2007. Marcolini later develops a chocolate flavor for Nestle's Nespresso subsidiary, whereupon Nestle increased its share to 29 percent. Marcolini and other shareholders bought out Nestlé's shares in December 2011. Marcolini raised additional funds from investment company NEO Capital the following year.
