Peter Dutton's double standard: French 'Bollard Man' is given the Liberal leader's seal of approval to stay - but he has baffling answers to questions about hero Pakistani guard

The Opposition Leader was asked about Muhammad Taha's hospital bed request as he stopped by Westfield in Bondi Junction to pay his respects. Mr Taha was stabbed in the stomach after bravely confronting crazed knifeman Joel Cauchi during his violent rampage on Saturday afternoon. His colleague, Faraz Tahir, was fatally stabbed. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese this week singled out fellow hero, Frenchman  Damien Guerot, who has earned the nickname 'Bollard Man' after footage went viral of him attempting to keep Cauchi away from a children's play area.

Peter Dutton (inset) has divided Australians with a controversial comparison to the Port Arthur massacre. The Opposition Leader drew strong criticism for invoking the horrific tragedy, in which shooter Martin Bryant (left) murdered 35 people and wounded 23 others at Port Arthur, in Tasmania, in 1996.

Nat Barr confronts Anthony Albanese - as Penny Wong is accused of the 'most reckless' diplomatic act in decades

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 11, 2024
Natalie Barr has confronted Anthony Albanese after his Foreign Minister Penny Wong was accused of the 'most reckless' diplomatic act in decades. In a speech at the Australian National University on Tuesday, Senator Wong said recognising a Palestinian state was the only way to break the cycle of violence and bring peace to both Palestinians and Israelis. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton quickly joined Jewish leaders in slamming Ms Wong's comments as 'utterly illogical, ill-timed and inappropriate'. Mr Dutton said the push for a two-state solution was the most 'reckless act of a foreign minister I have seen in my 22 years in the parliament'.
