Patrcio Freire (born July 7, 1987 in Natal, Brazil) is a Brazilian mixed martial artist currently competing in Bellator MMA, where he is the current Bellator Lightweight World Champion and two-time Featherweight World Champion.

He is Patricky Freire's younger brother.

He is Bellator MMA's second-ever simultaneous two-weight champion.

According to FightMatrix.com, he is currently the world's best-ranked Featherweight and #10 Lightweight, as well as the world's highest pound for pound fighter by Combat Press.

By Ranking MMA, he has also ranked him as the best Featherweight fighter outside of the United Kingdom.

Freire made his professional MMA debut in March 2004, aged 16, in March 2004. He competed in Brazil for the first five and a half years of his career, winning all but two games by way of stoppage.

Freire was rated as one of the best candidates outside of the North American combat scene prior to signing with Bellator.

He was first tabbed to make his American debut against Will Romero at Bellator 14 on April 15, 2010, the Bellator Featherweight Tournament's highest record on the local Brazilian circuit, building on his undefeated run to date. . Nevertheless, the brawl at Bellator 15 was postponed until April 22, 2010. He advanced to the quarterfinals by a first-round entry.

Wilson Reis, a Brazilian and former EliteXC Featherweight Champion, secured his semifinal match against fellow Brazilian and former EliteXC Featherweight Champion Wilson Reis by unanimous vote at Bellator 18, 2010.

In the Tournament Final on June 24, 2010, Freire met Joe Warren against Bellator 23. Freire lost the fight by split decision despite almost concluding the match in the first round's dying moments.

Freire defeated Georgi Karakhanyan and Wilson Reis in the third round of Bellator Season Four, a rematch of their match the previous year) in the Featherweight Tournament's finals. In the Bellator Season Four Featherweight Tournament Final, Freire defeated Daniel Mason-Straus. He won the fight unanimously and received a championship shot rematch against Joe Warren.

Freire had intended to meet Rob Emerson at Bellator 97 on July 31, 2013, but Emerson was forced to leave the match due to injury and was replaced by Jared Downing. At fifty-four seconds into the second round, Freire gained by KO.

In the quarterfinals of Bellator's Season Nine Featherweight Tournament, Freire met former UFC featherweight champion Diego Nunes at Bellator 99 on September 13, 2013. In the first round, he was able to win by knockout.

Freire met Fabricio Guerrero in the semifinals at Bellator 103 on October 11, 2013, and secured unanimously.

On Friday, Freire met Justin Wilcox in the tournament final at Bellator 108, 2013. In the first round, he won the battle by TKO.

Freire was expected to face Pat Curran in the long-awaited rematch at Bellator 121 after being postponed for his championship shot. Curran had canceled the match due to a calf injury, according to a tweet on May 21. On September 5, 2014, the rematch took place at Bellator 123. Freire defeated Curran by a unanimous vote to become the new Bellator Featherweight Champion.

Freire played his first title defense at Bellator 132 on January 16, 2015 against Daniel Mason-Straus in a rematch of their competition in May 2011, which culminated in Freire's defeat by a decision win. Freire won the fourth round of a back-and-forth match by a rear-naked choke submission.

Freire was due to defend his featherweight title against former WSOF Featherweight Champion Georgi Karakhanyan in a rematch at Bellator 138 on June 19, 2015. Freire will face Bellator Season Ten Featherweight tournament champion Daniel Weichel at the tournament, despite a torn ACL sustained by Karakhanyan. Despite being knocked down in the first seconds of the first round, Freire fought back to knock out Weichel with a flawless counter left hook early in the second round.

Freire defeated Straus for the third time on November 6, 2015, at Bellator 145. After two good defenses, he lost the fight by a unanimous decision, effectively ending the Bellator Featherweight Championship.

Freire moved up to the lightweight division after his brother's humiliating loss to Michael Chandler, in order to face Chandler. On August 26, 2016, he met Benson Henderson in the main event at Bellator 160. Freire stopped himself early in round two to announce that he had sustained a leg injury, bringing the bout to a close. Henderson was given a TKO victory due to injury as a result. Freire had broken his shin in the first round after Henderson checked a low kick with his knee, and was revealed post-fight.

On April 21, 2017, Freire defeated Daniel Straus in their fourth match for the Bellator featherweight championship. Freire won the second round by guillotine choke early in the second round and became the two-time Bellator Featherweight World Champion. Following his submission triumph, Freire was fined $2,500 for climbing onto the cage.

Freire was scheduled to make his first title defense against Daniel Weichel, a rematch at Bellator 188 on November 16, 2017. Freire was forced to leave the fight due to several injuries, but it was not surprising. In early 2018, he expressed concern about a match with Weichel.

Freire met Daniel Weichel at Bellator 203 on July 14, 2018, for his first title defense of his second reign. He won the fight by a split decision.

Freire faced Emmanuel Sanchez at Bellator 209 in his second title defense. He was awarded by a unanimous decision and won the contest.

Freire had signed a multi-year, multi-fight contract extension with Bellator, which was announced on February 20, 2019. Freire defeated Michael Chandler for the Bellator Lightweight World Championship in the first battle of his new contract, at Bellator 221 on May 11, 2019. In the first round, he defeated TKO in the first round to become the second Bellator fighter since Ryan Bader to hold two titles at the same time.

Freire defended his Featherweight Championship against Juan Archuleta at Bellator 228 on September 28, 2019. He was voted unanimously in the fight.

Freire was supposed to defend his Featherweight Championship against Pedro Carvalho at Bellator 241, on March 13, 2020. However, the entire event was eventually postponed due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. Bellator 252 was rebooked and the match took place on November 12. Freire won the first round after being knocked out.

Freire defended his title against Emmanuel Sanchez at Bellator 255 on April 2. This was a rematch of their November 2018 match, with Freire winning by unanimous vote. Freire took the fight after choking Sanchez unconscious by guillotine choke after knocking him with a flurry of punches.

Freire defended his title at Bellator 263 on July 31, 2021, against undefeated A. J. McKee for the Grand Prix Title and $1 million. Freire was knocked down early in the contest and lost by guillotine choke submission in round one.

Freire vacated the Bellator Lightweight championship on October 6, 2021, not wanting to get in the way of his brother Patricky's title aspirations.

Freire rematch A. J. McKee for the Bellator Featherweight Championship on April 15, 2022, after losing the Featherweight title and abandoning the Lightweight one. He received the competition and the title by a unanimous decision.

Freire defended his title against dám Borics at Bellator 286 on October 1, 2022. He won the match in a convincing manner by unanimous vote.

Freire will face former Rizin FF Featherweight Champion Kleber Koike Erbst in a non-title match between Bellator MMA vs. Rizin on December 31, 2022.
