Sarcastic NFL fans have sluggishly charged them a monthly fee just to watch Chiefs-Dolphins on Peacock: "I think it's awesome we're a part of history." Thanks owners!'

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 14, 2024
NFL fans were invited to the company's subscription website, where the Chiefs-Dolphins playoff matchup was shown exclusively on Saturday. Of course, paying Peacock's monthly fee could not be everyone's idea of history, even though this is the first playoff game to be made available solely through a subscription service. "I know the Peacock app deal was confusing, but I'm also glad we get to be a part of history," the Ringer's Ryen Russillo joked on X. 'Thank you NFL owners!'

'This double-charges loyal fans' have slammed NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and NBC for putting Chiefs-Dolphins playoff game on Peacock in a $110 million 'bait-and-switch'

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 13, 2024
According to an open letter sent by Democratic congressman Pat Ryan of New York, NFL and NBC are ripping off football fans by putting Saturday's Kansas City Chiefs-Miami Dolphins playoff game on a subscription streaming service. In the letter sent to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and NBC Sports President Rick Cordella, Ryan wrote, 'It's a disgrace.' Fans already pay exorbitant prices to watch every game during the regular season, but they don't want to be squeezed even more by greedy companies.' 'This bait-and-switch is particularly offensive to customers who already pay for NBC as part of their cable subscription.' Since Peacock is a NBCUniversal affiliate, this exclusive contract effectively doubles on loyal fans of games they've already paid for.' NBC paid $110 million to play Peacock, which usually costs $6 a month per month for a subscription, but the Chiefs-Dolphins match will be held on the NBC.

After chemical leaks, drinking water in North Carolina and Iowa is the most contaminated

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 7, 2023
According to a new report, North Carolina and Iowa have the nation's most contaminated tap water, sparking controversies and concerns about the two areas. Although nearly half of the tap water in the United States was discovered to be laced with hormone-warping 'forever chemicals,' Brunswick County, N.C., and Quad Cities, Iowa, had significantly higher PFAs in their drinking water. In the country's most comprehensive review of their kind, researchers from the US Geological Survey tested water sources at more than 700 locations around the country for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
