Evander Kane of the Edmonton Oilers is in stable condition after suffering a horrific wrist laceration in Tampa on Tuesday when he fell and was cut by Lightning forward Pat Maroon's skate blade. A tumultuous scene unfolded along the benches, where blood could be seen on the ice as a terrified Kane leapt to his feet and began racing to the bench, where he quickly received immediate medical attention. He was later hospitalized and was set to have surgery on the wrist on Tuesday evening. 'I've got so far,' Edmonton coach Jay Woodcroft said. 'He's getting good care of.' Kane became involved with Lightning defenseman Philippe Myers just inside the Edmonton defensive zone, and after that time, the ice was cut by Maroon's skate blade 3:27 into the second period, the ice was cut by Maroon's skate blade 3:27.
