Career

Park came to fame in 2003 when she appeared in the famous Korean drama Stairway to Heaven as the younger version of Choi Ji-woo's character. Thereafter, she expanded her filmography by appearing in several television series, most prominently as a teen in the drama series Very Merry Christmas in 2004.

Park appeared in her first adult leading role in the South Korean-Japanese melodrama Tree of Heaven (2006), where critics lauded her performance. The series was also broadcast in Japan, giving Park more exposure overseas.

Park appeared in the film Evil Twin (2007), a summer horror film in which she played two parts: one as the main protagonist and the other as the ghost of the main character's sister, who haunts the other sister after her death. She appeared in Prince Hours, a spin-off to Princess Hours (2006), before acting as the female lead in the weekend drama Kimcheed Radish Cubes.

Park, who specializes in acting, also hosted the variety show Fantastic Partner from 2006 to 2007, for which she was named Best Newcomer in a Variety Show at the MBC Entertainment Awards.

Park's fame came after she appeared as a cross-dressing heroine in the romance comedy music drama You're Beautiful (2009) alongside Jang Keun-suk. Despite average ratings in South Korea, the series attracted a following and received high praise in Japan. For the drama's original soundtrack, she released "Lovely Day" and "Without Words."

Park appeared in the low-budget romantic comedy film Cyrano Agency, which revolved around a dating service that helps its clients win the hearts of the people they love. The sleeper became a nationally distributed and commercial success, grossing 2.7 million admissions, making it the 8th best-selling film of the year. At the Baeksang Arts Awards, Park received the "Most Popular Actress" award in the film category. Park also voiced the main character of the animation film Green Days: Dinosaur and I, which premiered at the 15th Busan International Film Festival and received rave reviews.

Park appeared in MBC's youth melodrama Heartstrings (2011) opposite Jung Yong-hwa. Park gained a following in Japan after signing an exclusive deal with Japanese management company IMX. Park appeared in Hayate The Combat Butler, her first Taiwanese drama based on the Japanese shnen manga of the same name. Park next appeared in the crime thriller film Heart Blackened, a Korean adaptation of the Hong Kong film Silent Witness starring Choi Min-sik, which was released in 2017.

Park joined Na Young-seok's Little Cabin in the Woods in 2018, where she and fellow actress So Ji-sub chronicled their daily life in a tiny house located in the Jeju forest. She appeared in tvN's fantasy suspense drama Memories of the Alhambra, alongside Hyun Bin, playing dual roles as a hostel owner and a guitar-player NPC. The series was a commercial success and became one of the highest rated Korean dramas in cable television history.

Park appeared in the disaster film #Alive, based on Matt Naylor's original script, alongside Yoo Ah-in. The film was commercially successful, netting the seventh highest grossing in South Korea for the year 2020. The actress appeared in Lee Chung-hyun's thriller The Call, which revolves around two women who are in different time periods and connected by a tumultuous phone call.

Park appeared in the time-travel thriller Drama Sisyphus: The Myth in 2021, alongside Cho Seung-woo.
