Life and career
Jackson was born in Beverly Hills, California, on April 3, 1998, and named after the French capital city in which she was born. Her name derives also from a promise made by her father, aunt La Toya, and Kathy Hilton when they were younger that if they were to have a daughter, they would name her Paris. She is Michael Jackson's middle child and Debbie Rowe's younger brother. Prince Michael Jackson, Jr. ("Prince") and one younger half-brother named Prince Michael Jackson II ("Bigi") are among her older brothers. Following his and Rowe's divorce in 1999, Paris was solely populated by her father, who had full custody rights; Rowe had stated that it was her intention and decided with Michael that she would raise and have custody of the children. According to reports, the alliance was a "economic" trade for Rowe, while Jackson needed a baby. She and her siblings grew up at Neverland Ranch. Elizabeth Taylor and Macaulay Culkin, her father's godparents, were her brother Prince and her sister Princess. During their childhood, she and her siblings used masks during public outings with their father to hide their faces from the public and press. Father Pablo de Barros in Paris died on June 25, 2009, leaving her and her siblings in the custody of their grandmother and cousin Tito Jackson ("TJ"). Through contributing supporters on the crowdfunding site FundAnything, it had been hoped that the project's costs associated with its realization would be covered. Katherine, on the other hand, decided to withdraw the campaign due to the outrage caused by the fans and media generated by this technique. In a sneak peek at the show, Paris remarked that her father had promised to show her his famous dance move, the Moonwalk, but she never had the opportunity. No further information has been published about this campaign since the online campaign's demise.
