Paris Hilton Career

Career

Hilton began modeling as a child at charity functions and made an uncredited appearance in the fantasy film Wishman (1992). Hilton's increasing success at nightclubs and high-profile events helped her to establish a reputation as a socialite after relocating to NYC in 1996. She has recalled seeing calls to dance in nightclubs as early as she was 16, when she first obtained a stolen identity card in order to gain entry to events. Local tabloids are immediately attracted by her antics and late-night celebrity. "They're little stars" after becoming acquainted with Paris and Nicky's social circle, according to Hamptons magazine publisher Jason Binn. They've all been given names. It's like a job to them. Every morning, I believe they wake up and say, 'O.K., where am I supposed to be tonight?' However, her family's conservative roots clashed with her family's conservative heritage and became too "rebellious" for the young Paris, whose parents sent her to a succession of boarding schools before she turned 18. Hilton returned to public appearances shortly after, with Bob Morris' review of her and sister Nicky as "the littlest socialites in town" [...] Without even a smile, they can breeze past the velvet ropes at Moomba or get a seat at Le Bilboquet. In a dress made from US$1 million in poker chips, businessman George J. Maloof Jr. flew Hilton in his private jet and paid her to attend, the Palms Casino Resort opening in Las Vegas in November 2001.

Hilton was inspired by designers Patricia Field and Betsey Johnson, who joined Donald Trump's firm, T Management, at age 19. She modeled for Catherine Malandrino and Marc Bouwer, and she posed for David LaChapelle alongside her sister in a shoot that was included in the Vanity Fair's September 2000 issue. "Paris had a charisma back then that you couldn't take your eyes off." She would giggle and squeak, beepescent, and take up a room." Hilton had become "one of the top celebrities, both on and off the catwalk" at New York Fashion Week, and had been featured in magazines such as Vogue and FHM. In addition to modeling, Hilton ventured into film acting, playing an ill-fated character in the independent teen thriller Sweetie Pie (2000), and filming a cameo appearance as herself in the comedy Zoolander (2001). In the 5-minute short QIK2JDG's "strung-out supermodel" video, she appeared in Vincent Gallo's "Honey Bunny" video, and she appeared as a socialite in the straight-to-DVD horror film Nine Lives.

Hilton's breakout came in 2003, when she appeared alongside her childhood friend and socialite colleague Nicole Richie in the Fox reality show The Simple Life, in which they spent a month with a family in Altus, Arkansas. The series premiered on December 2, 2003, just after the leak of Hilton's sex tape, and it was a ratings hit. Its first episode attracted 13 million viewers, raising Fox's adult 18–49 rating by 79 percent. Hilton's ferocious reception for the handmade tape was attributed to her on-screen dumb blonde persona, as she became well-known for her on-screen dumb blonde. She had appeared in films and scripted television series such as Raising Helen and The Occasion, as well as a perfume line by Parlux Fragrances, by 2004. Originally scheduled for a small launch, increased demand for her first fragrance resulted in an increase in stock by December 2004. The unveiling of Parlux followed a 47 percent rise in Parlux sales, mainly of Hilton-branded perfumes. Parlux has launched many more perfumes with her name, including men's fragrances.

Hilton hosted NBC's Saturday Night Live in February 2005, with Keane as the musical guest, and the slasher film House of Wax, her first major film role, received mixed praises in theaters. Matthew Turner, a writer for View London, remarked that Hilton "does better than you'd like," although TV Guide calls Hilton "talentless." MTV Movie Awards are a showcase for her talent as a teen actress, as well as a citation for Best Scream, the 2005 Razzie for Worst Supporting Actress, and Best Frightened Performance. The House of Wax earned more than $70 million in global sales. Carl's Jr. aired a television commercial promoting its Spicy Burger range in May 2005, which featured Hilton in a daring swimsuit soaping up a Bentley SUV and crouching all over it before taking a big bite out of her burger and exclaiming, "That's hot." She had launched Your Heiress Diary: Confess It All to Me in her second book by the fall of 2005, and she had launched Just Me.

Following a controversy between Hilton and Richie, Fox cancelled the Simple Life after three seasons in 2005. Neither Richie nor Hilton spoke out about their split, although it was speculated that they fell out after Richie showed one of Hilton's handmade sex tapes to a group of their acquaintances. They reconciled in October 2006. Following the cancellation of The Simple Life, other television companies (NBC, The WB, VH1, and MTV) were interested in purchasing the rights for new seasons of the show.

On November 28, 2005, E!

The company had picked up The Simple Life, requiring the production of a fourth season and the rights to repeat the first three seasons. On February 27, 2006, shooting for the new season began. The show's fourth season premiere was a ratings hit for its new network.

On August 22, 2006, Hilton released her self-titled debut album, Paris. The album debuted on the Billboard 200, with over 600,000 copies sold around the world. "Stars Are Blind," the company's lead single, has worldwide success. More than 125 pop stations in the United States were on display, with the top ten in 17 countries. Overall, critical reception was mixed, but AllMusic said the album was "more fun than anything released by Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson." Hilton was also top-billed in the comedy films Bottoms Up and National Lampoon's Pledge This! in 2006, both of which were released in North America as vain, dumb blonde characters. Despite receiving a US$1 million fee for the role, Urban Cinefile, a sister company of Hilton in Bottoms Up, said she "spends the majority of her screen time flicking her hair" as she delivers lines like "books are the things you read," and she appears to have dropped out at the Cannes Film Festival premiere in August 2008. Hilton licensed her name to Gameloft for their 2006 mobile video game Paris Hilton's Diamond Quest.

The Simple Life ended on August 5, 2007, after debuting on Memorial Day on May 28, 2007, and ending on August 5, 2007. Hilton launched Can Can Can, her fourth perfume, and her DreamCatchers line of hair extensions with Hair Tech International in Los Angeles, and the Kitson Boutique in Los Angeles launched a line of tops, dresses, coats, and jeans that included stilettos, platforms, flats, wedges, and a sports collection. She also posed nude (covered with gold paint) to advertise "Rich Prosecco," a canned version of the Italian sparkling wine that appeared in print ads for the wine and posed for 2 B Free.

The Hottie and the Nottie, a romantic comedy in which Hilton starred, was released theatrically in February 2008; Hilton later received the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress. She appeared on My Name Is Earl's "I Won't Die With a Little Help from My Family" in April. A documentary about Hilton, Paris, Not France, was shown at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival. My New BFF, a MTV reality series about her hunt for a new best friend, premiered shortly after on September 30. The series was a hit and dominated all other cable shows in its time slot. Sheen appeared in two viral Funny or Die videos in August and October. Hilton launched Fairy Dust, her fifth perfume for women, in 2008, and Little Lily by Paris Hilton was inspired by her love for dogs.

The gothic rock musical Repo!

Hilton appeared in the Genetic Opera (2008) as Amber Sweet, the surgery and painkiller dependent daughter of a biotech magnate. The film received limited distribution after a limited run at San Diego Comic-Con International. "Not only is this by far Hilton's best role, but she does have a grain of gravitas at the end," Horror.com says.

However, Jam!

Her film "hopeless twit as an actor" was portrayed as a "hopeless twit as an actress." She was nominated for the 2009 Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actress for her appearance. As a result of the American version's success, Paris Hilton's British Best Friend debuted on ITV2 in England on January 29, 2009, the second season of Paris Hilton's My New BFF premiered on June 2, and Paris Hilton's Dubai BFF was televised on MTV in April 2011. She appeared in the fifth episode of Supernatural's fifth season, which aired on October 8, 2009. Hilton also launched Siren, a sunglasses line, and a variety of hair products that included shampoos, conditioners, and vitamins in 2009. At the 2009 Fifi Awards, she received the Female Celebrity Fragrance of the Year award.

Hilton took part in an advertising campaign for Devassa Bem Loura, Brazil's national beer, whose slogan roughly translates into English as "very blonde bitch." She rode the brewery's float in the Rio Carnival as part of the campaign. On September 27, HBO's critically acclaimed documentary Teenage Paparazzo, in which Hilton appeared, aired on CNN. In The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation, an ABC made-for-television film, she had her first voice-over role. On November 28, 2010, the film debuted on November 28, 2010 and attracted a respectable 2.611 million viewers. In 2011, Hilton introduced Tease, a fragrance influenced by Marilyn Monroe, a Las Vegas footwear line, and her motorcycle racing team in Spain. Maverick Viales, her driver, won the final race and finished third overall in the 2011 125cc Grand Prix motorcycle racing championship.

In Oxygen's The World According to Paris, Hilton returned to reality television on June 1, 2011. The series, which was attributed to Hilton's then-fading success in North America, was based on her daily life. Alessandra Stanley, a reporter for The New York Times, described her as a "attractive woman with proven abilities for marketing and self-promotion, but as a reality heroine, it's impossible to see how she would recapture the kind of audience she enjoyed in her heyday even as she streamed her premiere live on Facebook." During Brazil Fashion Week and Andre Tan during Ukraine Fashion Week, she modeled for Triton, Johannesburg, South Beach, and Tokyo, as well as other footwear collections in Mexico City and Istanbul, inspired by cities such as Paris, South Beach, and Tokyo, a smartphone app that became available for iPhone and iPod touch. By November 2011, Hilton had opened several boutiques in Egypt, United Arab Emirates, India, and the Philippines.

Hilton made her debut as a DJ at Brazil's Pop Music Festival on June 28, 2012, which attracted critical feedback from DJs Deadmau5, Samantha Ronson, and Afrojack. Kim Jang-hoon, a Korean singer, was featured in a music video shot on Malibu Beach and modeled for designers Shane and Falguni Peacock at India Fashion Week, where she also appeared as a DJ. She launched a line of sunglasses in Shanghai in 2012, her fifteenth fragrance, Dazzle, and a store in Mecca.

Hilton appeared in four episodes of the Danish version of Paradise Hotel, for which she was paid US$300,000. Hilton opened in Bogotá, Colombia, in April. Hilton, who had signed to Cash Money Records, appeared in the music video for Rich Gang's album "Tapout," alongside Lil Wayne, Christina Milian, and Nicki Minaj, and Sofia Coppola's film The Bling Ring, which revolved around the infamous group of teenagers who had robbed her house, as well as others, was released in theaters in May. In addition to acting in the film, Coppola borrowed Coppola's house for two weeks of shooting. Coppola described the house as "we'd better get this into the movie." It was so rare. It'll be impossible to recreate it. Her body is larger than life, and her house is likened to Paris'. Hilton was a DJ at Amnesia's weekly "Foam and Diamonds" parties on Ibiza in August 2013. Her tenure was renewed for the next four years due to the positive feedback from critics and audiences. Hilton released "Good Time," the first single on Cash Money, starring rapper Lil Wayne, in October. It debuted on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs chart at number eighteen. At the National Radio Journal Awards in November, Hilton received the Best Breakthrough DJ award.

In March, she introduced her first real estate project, the Paris Beach Club, in partnership with Century Properties Group, Inc., at the Azure Urban Resort Residences in Paraguay, the Philippines. Her new single, "Come Alive," was announced in July, and she made a cameo appearance in another Carl's Jr. commercial, paying tribute to the one in which she appeared in 2005. Hilton embarked on a summer and fall tour, featuring 13 performances in Spain, France, Portugal, South Korea, Colombia, and New Jersey to advance her DJing career as a DJ. Hilton was the highest-paid female DJ and was named Best Female DJ at the NJR DJ Awards in November 2014, winning as Best Female DJ at the NJR DJ Awards. She appeared as a DJ at W Hotel Art Basel's Art Basel parties in Miami in December, where she has since performed annually.

Hilton released her 19th fragrance, a limited edition of her second fragrance, Heiress, and Animoca Brands, a Hong Kong-based mobile game publisher, on March 25, 2015. "High Off My Love," her third album under Cash Money, was released in May. It eventually ranked third on the Billboard US Dance Club Songs chart, rising to the top of the charts. In June, she appeared at Summerfest in Milwaukee in front of 50,000 concert-goers. Over 7,000 votes were raised in an online petition to get her off the bill. Hilton teamed up with Lidl for a hair care collection in 2016, and Gold Rush for Men became her 20th fragrance, followed by its male counterpart, Gold Rush for Men; she later introduced Rosé Rush in 2017 and Platinum Rush in 2018. During New York Fashion Week and for Philipp Plein during Milan Fashion Week, Hilton walked the runway for Christian Cowan, Demi Lovato's debut album "Sorry, Not Sorry" and Kim Petras' "I Don't Want It at All" and the Kim Petras debut single "I Don't Want It At All" and introduced footwear and home decor lines in Mexico City. Hilton was also "the center" of two initiatives regarding social media and various celebrities' online presence in 2018. After screening at the Tribeca Film Festival, the American Meme premiered on Netflix in December 2018. Bert Marcus wrote and directed the program, and she was one of the executive producers. Based on 28 reviews, Rotten Tomatoes earned a 93 rating, with Hilton receiving praise for revealing her vulnerability and showing viewers a glimpse into the dark side of fame. She also hosted Hollywood Love Story, a six-episode series that aired on Viceland.

Hilton walked the runaway for The Blonds and Christian Cowan, modeled for Philipp Plein's Plein Sport campaign, and was a special guest in the twelfth episode of Germany's Next Topmodel's 14th cycle between February and April 2019. "B.F.A." Best Friend's Ass), her artist with Belgian production company Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, was released on May 10, 2019. She appeared as a DJ in Tomorrowland two days later. In September, electrify, her 25th fragrance, came out.

Alexandra Dean's Is Paris (2020), a YouTube Originals documentary directed by Alexandra Dean, focuses on her personal and professional progress. Hilton narrated her experiences with emotional, verbal, and physical abuse after attending a number of boarding schools as a child. Despite not being able to reveal this information, she trusted Dean's choice and discovered filmmaking to be a healing space for her. She worked as a designer but didn't have artistic control over the process, which she acknowledged was a risk because she had "total creative control" of her company ventures. In the first month of its introduction, it attracted over 16 million views, and was praised as a "rebranding" of her image. Hilton was a guest judge on James Charles' first episode of James Charles' YouTube series Instant Influencer, and he appeared in filmmaker Ramez Silyan's narrative short film Sorry. "This Is Paris" premiered on February 22, 2021, and it became "the flagship of a planned slate of seven shows to be produced by Hilton's London Audio and the iHeartPodcast Network, according to her.
