Osama Hawsawi Life

Osama Abdulrzag Hawsawi (born 31 March 1984) is a retired Saudi Arabian footballer who played as a central defender who played for Al-Wehda. He went on to spend the vast majority of his time with Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli.

He has won numerous major titles with both teams, including five Pro League titles, five Crown Prince Cups, and two King Cups.

In addition,, he became the first Saudi player to play in the Belgian Pro League. Hawsawi earned 138 caps for the Saudi Arabia national team between 2006 and 2018, including three AFC Asian Cups, captaining the team in the 2018 World Cup and finishing runners-up at the 2007 AFC Asian Cup.

Club career

Hawsawi began his football career with Al-Wehda Club and Al-Wehda soon after, he became a regular in the first team, playing in central defense.

Hawsawi joined Al-Hilal after being on 59 appearances and scoring once. Hawsawi was appointed captain while at Al-Hilal, Hawsawi, under Eric Gerets' guidance. With Al-Hilal, Hawsawi has won seven titles. In 2008, 2010 and 2011, there have been three league titles (in 2008, 2010 and 2011 seasons) and the 4 Crown Prince Cup.

Hawsawi signed a two-year deal with Belgian side Anderlecht in April 2012, making him the only representative of the Saudi national team to play in Europe at the time. Hawsawi was the first Saudi Arabian to play for the club and in the league. He referred to his time at Anderlecht as 'fortuitable,' due to a lack of playing time at the club and only made one appearance for the club when playing as a center back in a 1–1 draw against OH Leuven on August 25, 2012. When Anderlecht won the Belgian Super Cup, Hawsawi was also on the replacement bench, but he wasn't the only one on the bench, but he wasn't fired.

Hawsawi left Belgium in November 2012 to return to his homeland by joining Al-Ahli for 1.5 million.

Hawsawi made the return to Al-Hilal for 5.5 million dollars (21 million riyals) in 2016. In his first season, he won the Saudi King's Cup and the Saudi Professional League. He played for Al-Hilal in his second season as an assistant coach and helped the team win their second straight league title and advance to the finals of the 2017 AFC Champions League.

Following the termination of his deal, Osama Hawsawi joined his boyhood club Al-Wehda for free on August 23, 2018.

On December 26, 2018, Osama Hawsawi announced that he had left football on his personal twitter page.

International career

He is the captain of the Saudi Arabian team. He was a member of the Saudi team at the FIFA World Youth Championships in 2007 and represented his country at the 2007 Gulf Cup of Nations. He was called up to the squad for the 2007 AFC Asian Cup.

He scored an excellent goal against Spain on May 29, 2010, putting the Saudi Arabian team up 1-0 against Spain after a corner kick that put them up 1-0 against Spain, scoring his second goal against Spain against the Saudi Arabian national team.

He was selected in the Saudi national football team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in June 2018, caping his team in all three finals matches.
