Locke came out as bisexual, then came out as gay, and then came out as gay later. He wrote Laid in Chelsea, which spent eight weeks on The Sunday Times Best Seller list, at the same time.

Locke became a housemate in the thirteenth series of Celebrity Big Brother in January 2014. He came in third place behind Dappy and winner Jim Davidson.

Locke has appeared on television shows as Celebrity Juice, Alan Carr's Chatty Man, The Jonathan Ross Show, Britain's Got More Talent, The Xtra Factor, Do the Dishes, the twelfth series of 8 Out of 10 Cats, and Fake Reaction's second series.

Locke and his co-founders Jack Rogers and Maxim Cheremkhin created Chappy, a gay dating service.

Locke's first Hollywood film came in 2018. Greed, directed by Michael Winterbottom, follows the life of a billionaire retail magnate whose wife does not understand him.

Locke appeared on Celebrity Hunted in 2022. He was the first candidate to be caught in the campaign.
