Olivia Rose Olson (born May 21, 1992) is an American actress and singer-songwriter best known for her voice appearances as Vanessa Doofenshmirtz in Phineas and Ferb and Marceline the Vampire Queen in Adventure Time.
She also appeared in Love Actually's 2003 film Love Actually and its 2017 short sequel Red Nose Day Actually. Olson is also a writer, contributing to the Adventure Time Encyclopedia and a forthcoming book for Cartoon Network.
Early life
Olson was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and has been adopted at a young age. Martin Olson, mother Kay Olson, and brother Casey Olson live together. In 2010, Olson graduated from Agoura High School. She is of Afro-Jamaican descent through her biological father.
Career
Olson has appeared on television shows and in live theatre, including Comedy Central Stage, the HBO Theater, and The Fake Gallery.
With her role as Joanna Anderson in the 2003 holiday film Love Actually, Olson began to perform. "All I Want for Christmas Is You" was the song. Her singing was praised, with producer Richard Curtis stating in the Love Actually DVD's commentary that Olson's singing was so convincing that they were afraid the audience would not believe she could sing the way she did, and that she should assume she was lip-synching to Mariah Carey's voice.
