She starred in the Disney XD series Kickin' It, Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs.
Monster, and the Disney Channel Original Series I Didn't Do It.
From 2018 to 2019, she portrayed the titular role Tandy Bowen / Dagger in the Freeform series Cloak & Dagger. Holt had voice roles in the films Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast (2014) and Gnome Alone (2017), and starred in the feature films Class Rank (2017), Same Kind of Different as Me (2017), and Status Update (2018).

Early life
Holt was born in Germantown, Tennessee, to Mark and Kim Holt. She has two siblings. At age three, her family moved to Nesbit, Mississippi, where she grew up after briefly living in Memphis, Tennessee. Growing up, she took gymnastics classes for seven years. In 2011, she moved to Los Angeles with her family. She graduated from Oak Park High School in 2015.
Career
Holt began performing in local theater productions. She began working in television commercials at the age of ten for Hasbro, Kidz Bop 14, Mattel, Bratz dolls, Littlest Pet Shop, and Girl Gourmet.
Holt was cast in Disney XD's martial arts comedy Kickin' It, which premiered on June 13, 2011. Kim played her role as a principal protagonist in seasons 1–3, and as a special guest on three episodes in season 4. Skylar Lewis, the lead character in the Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs. Monster in 2012, is the first in line. After season 3 to star in the Disney Channel half-hour comedy film I Didn't Do It, which premiered on January 17, 2014, she left Kickin' It as a regular. Five friends, including Holt's character, Lindy Watson, a nerdy, athletic, and social outcast, are chronicled in the series. After two seasons, the series came to an end on October 16, 2015. Holt appeared in January 2017 as Tandy Bowen / Dagger, one of the lead characters in the Freeform and Marvel Comics television series Cloak & Dagger. The series premiered in June 2018 and lasted for two seasons until May 2019, after which it was canceled. Holt and her Cloak & Dagger co-star Aubrey Joseph returned to perform their respective characters on Disney XD's animated film Spider-Man, and the two main characters reprised their roles for a two-episode stint in Runaways' third and final season. Kate Wallis stars on the series Cruel Summer, a psychological thriller set between 1993 and 1995 that premiered on Freeform on April 20, 2021.
Holt appeared in the film Same Kind of Different as Me in November 2014, directed by Michael Carney and also starring Greg Kinnear and Renée Zellweger, who play her character's parents. In October 2017, the film was released. Holt had been cast in a lead role in Eric Stoltz's indie comedy Class Rank, which was released in November 2015. In May 2016, it was announced that she would appear alongside Ross Lynch in Status Update, directed by Scott Speer, with filming set to begin in Vancouver, Canada, October 2016.
Holt performed three songs on the 2012 film Girl vs. Monster, in which she appeared as an extraneous character. The songs were included on the compilation Make Your Mark: Ultimate Playlist. For "Had Me @ Hello," which was included in the film, she received the Best Crush Song award from Radio Disney in 2013. She has also produced a cover version of "Winter Wonderland" for the 2012 Disney Channel Holiday Playlist album. The theme song for the 2014 Disneynature film Bears was "Carry On."
Holt signed a record deal with Hollywood Records in October 2014. "Phoenix" was her debut single and came out on May 13, 2016. The music video was released on June 23, 2016. Olivia, her debut EP, was announced on July 15, 2016.
Holt went on her first tour, Rise of a Phoenix Tour, with Ryland Lynch, Isac Elliot, and Forever in Your Mind. On October 9, 2016, she and Forever in Your Mind appeared at the 2016 TJ Martell Family Foundation Day in Los Angeles.
She was named Artist of the Month on NBC's Today Show with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford performing her hit "History" in April 2017. R3hab's single "Love U Again" debuted on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electric Songs charts at number 40. Later that year, it was followed by "Take Me Out of It" and "Take Me Out of It." "Do You Miss Me" and "Love On You" were two of her singles that debuted in early 2021. She also covered "Today" for the smashing Pumpkins' television series in which she appears in Cruel Summer. "In My Feelings" was released on June 11, 2021, containing her previous unreleased singles. She published the single "Next" on June 25, 2021, co-written with Meghan Trainor.
In November 2021, Holt left Hollywood Records in a split.
Holt joined PlayMG as a spokesperson and part owner in 2013 to assist the company in the creation of new versions of its app-based games. In March 2016, she was announced as a Neutrogena brand ambassador.
