Nouha Dicko Career

Club career

Dicko started playing football at the age of six with local team Jeanne d'Arc de Maisons-Alfort. He was signed by Créteil-Lusitanos and spent three seasons with the club before transferring to Strasbourg in 2007.

Dicko's progress was hampered by a number of injuries during his first season with the club, including an ankle injury that kept him out of action for four months. Despite the team's relegation to CFA 2, he made his debut for Strasbourg's reserve team in 2009-2010, impressing on several occasions. In a Championnat National match in September 2010, his first-team debut came against Stade Plabennecois during the following season.

In 2011, Strasbourg fired Dicko due to financial difficulties, and he was given a trial with Premier League side Wigan Athletic, but only a few weeks later. In a League Cup match against Crystal Palace on September 13, he made his senior debut for Wigan.

He joined Blackpool on loan until the end of the season on January 27, 2012. In a 3–1 victory over Doncaster Rovers, he scored his first goal for the club, and he went on to score four goals in 11 league appearances for the club. In Blackpool's 2–1 loss in the 2012 Championship play-off final against West Ham United, he came on as a replacement. On August 17, 2012, he re-signed for Blackpool on a season-long loan. On January 3, he was recalled from his loan.

Dicko signed on loan again on March 28, 2013, his first spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Championships. As the club unsuccessfully tried to prevent relegation under Dean Saunders, he made only four substitute appearances, scoring once.

Dicko began the 2013–14 season as a replacement in Wigan's Community Shield loss to league champions Manchester United. However, new Wigan boss Owen Coyle did not select him for any league games, and Dicko's first appearance for the club came in the Europa League and League Cup.

He was loaned out to Rotherham United in November 2013 until January 2014. In late December, Uwe Rösler, the current Wigan chief, recalled him.

Dicko moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers, then in the third division, for a reported £300,000, and on a 2+12-year deal. Dicko scored two goals on his second appearance for the club on January 25, 2014. In a 6–4 victory over Rotherham United on 18 April, he scored a hat-trick against Rotherham United. He spent the 2013–14 season as the club's top scorer, after winning promotion as champions.

Dicko was the club's joint top goalscorer in the following season, but the club was unable to qualify for the play-offs due to goal difference. He opted for a new three-year contract with the club at the end of the season, and he was given the squad number 9. Dicko sustained knee ligament damage in September 2015 during a match against Charlton that forced him to miss the remainder of the season.

Dicko returned to first-team football in October 2016, more than 13 months after his last appearance and signed a new one, which was expected to keep him at Wolves until the summer of 2020. During the campaign, he made 32 appearances but only three times. Dicko was mainly used as a back-up by new coach Nuno Esprito Santo, but he did score twice in seven appearances, his last goal for the club came against the team he was about to join.

Dicko signed Hull City's undisclosed fee in a three-year contract on August 29, 2017. He made his debut in a 5–0 loss away from Derby County on September 8, 2017. In a 1–1 draw away from Norwich City on October 14, he scored his first goal for the club.

Dicko joined Vitesse on loan for the remainder of the season on September 2nd.

Hull said on June 30, 2020, Dicko would leave the club following the termination of his deal.

Dicko joined Turkish Süper Lig club Gaziantep on a two-year deal on October 1st, 2020.

Dicko joined Yeni Malatyaspor on a 1.5-year deal with an additional one-year option in January 2022. Dicko will wear jersey number 94.

He signed for Greek club OFI in July 2022.

International career

Dicko, who was born and raised in France, is eligible to play for the Mali national football team through his parents, who both hail from the Yélimané Cercle region. In May 2014, he was called up by Mali to their international squad. He made his debut in a friendly against Guinea on May 25, 2014, while playing in Colombes, France. He sustained an accident while on international service in November 2014.
