Noel M. Comia Jr. (born May 29, 2004) is a Filipino actor, commercial model, actor, TV hosts, and voice actor who received Cinemalaya's Best Actor Award 2017 for film Kiko Boksingero (the youngest of which to do so) and joined as a contestant in Team Lea's third season, alongside his mentor Lea Salonga.
This multi-talented child actor has appeared in numerous theater productions and TV commercials prior to his appearance on The Voice Kids because he is just as good in the field of performing arts, but also in the field of music, as he can perform many musical instruments.
Personal life
Noel Comia Jr. was born to Filipino businessman Noel C. Comia and Elisa M. Comia.
His parents became aware of his musical abilities as he belted out songs on their karaoke machine and performed harmonies on several musical instruments when he was 6 years old. To further develop his acting and singing skills, his parents took him to music and theater acting workshops to continue to develop his talent.
Noel Jr.'s first musical theater class in the Philippines at the age of six was taken in by 'Kids Acts Philippines' TheCampArt Performing School, a Filipino-owned professional children's theatre company. He was educated as a scholar and has been a scholar and actor of the theatre company ever since.
Career
Noel Jr. began his work in musical theatre and commercial modeling, first appearing in a television commercial for a well-known powdered milk brand.
He was cast as a participant of KAPI's theater production of the popular childhood fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel" at 7 years old. This experience fueled his passion for theater and acting, and since then, he has appeared in more than 20 theater productions.
Noel Comia Jr., in addition to acting and modeling, is also a natural performer, and appeared on The Voice Kids (Philippines season 3). He was one of Team Lea's top 8 artists, but he was disqualified in the Sing-offs portion of the competition.
Noel Jr. and his coworker The Voice Kids alum and label mate Elha Nympha produced a cover duet of John Legend and Ariana Grande's "Beauty and the Beast" from MCA Music Inc in March 2017.
He unveiled a Lenka cover of "The Show" in August 2017. Noel Jr. was given the Best Actor Award at the Cinemalaya 2017 for his role in the Filipino film Kiko Boksingero, a 16-year-old boy. He is now the youngest to be honoured with the award.
