Cambage's dramatic midseason departure from the Sparks came weeks after the team decided to a 'contract divorce' with the WNBA's self-proclaimed 'black sheep' following her on-court tantrum. This is the first time the 30-year-old has spoken out about her split, and she has since apologizing for her abrupt departure from the game to rely on personal development after confirming past rumors. Cambage wrote on Instagram, "Playing for the Sparks was a dream come true, and I'm honored to have shared the court with such amazing women for as long as we did." I'm sorry for the abrupt departure and I wish it had ended on a different note. For the time being, I've decided to drop out of the league, and I'm hoping the WNBA will do their part in creating safer environments and a better support system for their players.'
