Nido Qubein, an American Lebanese-Jordanian businessman and motivational speaker, is a founder of the Nido Qubein Institute. * He has been president of High Point University since 2005. * He earned his Associate's degree in business from Mount Olive College, his bachelor's degree in human relations from High Point University in 1970, and his Master of Science in business education from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, in 2009; in 2009, he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Letters in Humanities from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, North Carolina; Qubein is the National Speakers Association's founder and chairman emeritus. * He has been chairman of the Great Harvest Bread Company since 2001 and has served on the board of directors of BB&T since 1990 and La-Z-Boy Corporation since 2006. The university has almost tripled the number of faculty, tripled traditional undergraduate enrollment, and opened four academic colleges since Qubein became the university's seventh president in 2005. Qubein is known as the third or fourth highest paid college president in the United States, with an annual income of $2.9 million per year. Qubein was the third-highest donor university president in the United States from 2006 to 2016. Qubein, a healthcare technology company, remained a board member for nThrive, a healthcare technology company focused on financial and operational results, in 2017.
