Nicole Matthews Career

Professional wrestling career

Matthews was first encouraged by her companion, male wrestler Sid Sylum, to pursue a career in professional wrestling. She made her pro wrestling debut in February 2006 alongside fellow trainee Veronika Vice. Matthews began wrestling for SuperGirls Wrestling, part of the National Championship Wrestling Association in March and September 2006. In a three-way match for the SuperGirls Championship, she defeated Nattie Neidhart and Vice on October 27, 2007. In the weeks after, she defended the champion over Vice and Aurora. Vice, on the other hand, defeated Matthews for the title on April 21, 2007. Matthews also formed a Sid Sylum alliance while wrestling with him in mixed tag team matches and occasionally appearing as his valet. For the remainder of the year, Matthews and Vice continue to feud with Vice. Matthews regained the SuperGirls Championship in March 2008 in a match against Penni Lane. She did lose the title to Veronika Vice on February 7, 2009, but she did not win the competition.

Matthews defeated Tenille Tayla in a Tables match to win the SuperGirls Championship for the third time on October 29, 2010. She regained the crown a year later, to KC Spinelli on October 28, 2011. Matthews, Ravenous Randy Myers, Alex Plexis, and Andy "The Dreadful" Bird joined The Riot in ECCW in early 2012.

In December 2006, Matthews sent a demo tape to Shimmer Women Athletes, but she was not signed up for the cause. Matthews had been called to join the company in October 2007, but Portia Perez needed a tag team partner. In Shimmer Volumes 15, Matthews teamed with Perez. After three singles matches with Shimmer, Matthews embarked on Perez as the Canadian NINJAs (National International Country of Jalape) once more. The NINJAs defeated Ashley Lane and Nevaeh for the Shimmer Tag Team Championship on Volume 22, but were dissatisfied. On Volume 23, she defeated Daizee Haze to a 20-minute time limit draw before losing to her in a rematch on Volume 24. Matthews and Perez defeated Ashley Lane and Nevaeh in the Shimmer Tag Team Championship on May 3, the first time at the tapings of Volume 26. Matthews returned to singles against Cheerleader Melissa as part of Volume 27, but winning against Allison Danger as part of Volume 28. Matthews and Perez lost the Shimmer Tag Team Championship to Hiroyo Matsumoto and Misaki Ohata on March 26, 2011, ending a journey of 692 days.

The Ninjas lost their bid to win back the championship on October 2, 2011, losing to Ayumi Kurihara and Ayako Hamada, but Matthews later struck Cheerleader Melissa from behind after Melissa had defeated the Madison Eagles after Melissa failed to win the Shimmer Championship. Matthews was able to win a championship match against Melissa on March 17, 2012 at the Volume 45 tapings, but was dissatisfied. The NINJAs competed in a four-way elimination tag team competition at the tapings of Volume 48, but they were defeated by Courtney Rush and Sara Del Rey, who won the Shimmer Tag Team Championship. For the second time, the NINJAs defeated Rush and Del Rey at an NCW Fatales (NCW) tournament, winning the Shimmer Tag Team Championship. On April 14, 2013, they lost the title to the Global Green Gangsters (Kellie Skater and Tomoka Nakagawa), who were tapped out at Volume 57. Both players progressed to a four-way championship match against Volume 68, which also includes Cheerleader Melissa and Athena after drawing with Madison Eagles in a number one contender's match at Voume 67. Matthews became the first Canadian woman to hold the title on October 18, making her the first Canadian to have competed. She won the tournament against Evie at the Volume 69 tapings and maintained the title by disqualifying against Tomoka Nakagawa at Volume 70 when Perez interfered. Matthews lost the Shimmer Championship to the Madison Eagles in a No Disqualification match on October 10, 2015.

Matthews appeared in the first season of Wrestlicious, which premiered in March 2010. Hope and forms the tag team The Naughty Girls with partner Faith, who is played by Portia Perez, in the competition. On March 31, she appeared on the fifth episode of Faith, teaming with Faith in a losing effort against Charlotte and Paige Webb's team.

Matthews, on the other hand, wasn't able to win in her debut on June 5, and Melissa progressed to the semi-finals. While continuing to compete for NCW FF, wrestling wrestlers including Mercedes Martinez in singles matches, she continued to compete with Perez.

Matthews has competed in both Australia and Japan. In Pro Wrestling Women's Alliance in Australia, she met Madison Eagles and Jessie McKay. Portia Perez, her Canadian NINJAs partner, traveled Japan with her two friends, Hiroyo Matsumoto and Saya, against Hiroyo Matsumoto and Saya.
