Nicolás Del Caño Career

Political career

In 2006, he travelled to Mendoza to help with the PTS in that region. He later enrolled in the National University of Cuyo, where he studied sociology while working in a call center or selling ties.

At the 2013 Argentine national election, he gained a seat for the Workers' Left Front in the Argentine Chamber of Deputies for Mendoza Province. This article was replaced by Soledad Sosa.

He ran for Governor of Mendoza Province in 2011 and received 1.6% of the vote. However, it was a surprise that he managed to win 7.6% of votes in the primary elections for 2013 Argentinian legislative elections, causing his rivals in the Democrat Party to accuse him of trying to "expropriate" citizens and then attempt to "convert Mendoza to "Fidel Castro's Cuba." The video was quickly parodied, and even compared to Herminio Iglesias' coffin fiasco by a Democrat Party chief.
