Personal life
In an October 2016 interview with Vulture, Tortorella said they were sexually active and identified as bisexual. Tortorella and Bethany C. Meyers (who had been dating for 11 years) talked about being in a polyamorous marriage in November 2017, a break that led to them being banned from their respective families' Thanksgiving dinners.
Meyers was civilly married at a Manhattan City clerk's office on March 9, 2018 before exchanging vows at St. Paul's Chapel. Tortorella revealed that they are gender fluid during a video collaboration with drag queen Trinity The Tuck last year. Tortorella uses they/them pronouns.
Life and career
Tortorella is a native of Wilmette, Illinois, and a graduate of New Trier High School. They are of Italian descent. The CW ordered a 13-episode first season of The Beautiful Life: TBL in May 2009. Cole Shepard, the up-and-coming underwear model, was centered on a group of models sharing a house in New York City. Critics mixed on the series's premiere on September 16, 2009. Due to poor ratings, the CW pulled the series after its second episode.
Tortorella was confirmed to appear in ABC Family's teen drama series Make It or Break It, where they played Razor, an aspiring singer. Tortorella briefly left the show to pursue work on The Beautiful Life, and after the series's cancellation, she returned to Make It or Break It Again in a recurring role.
