Nick Crosswell Career

Playing career

Crosswell made his debut for Manawatu in the 2006 Air New Zealand Cup, and his quick work rate and solid combat made him a starting point for the team.

Crosswell was named team captain for the 2011 ITM Cup but he suffered through a difficult season as injury restricted him to just four starts. Manawatu finished second in his absence from the top of the table in the tournament. Both Crosswell and the crew had an amazing 2011 season, but he began playing as captain in the team's journey to the Championship Final of the ITM Cup.

After excelling in provincial rugby for Manawatu, Crosswell was selected in the Hurricanes squad for the 2010 Super 14 season. He established himself as a reliable loose forward for the club, playing in 9 of the club's 13 matches, with two others starting.

Crosswell moved south to join the Highlanders in 2011 for the 2011 Super Rugby Championships. Crosswell was mainly used coming off the bench in his first season with the Highlanders, but he became a more consistent starter in 2012.

Crosswell was sent north to the Chiefs for the 2013 Super Rugby season.

Crosswell was drafted into the Welsh regional team Newport Gwent Dragons in January 2015.
