Neil Morrissey Life

Neil Anthony Morrissey (born 4 July 1962) is an English actor, voice actor, comedian, and businessman.

He is well-known for his role in Men Behaving Badly.

Eddie Lawson in Waterloo Road; Nigel Morton in Line of Duty; and Rocky in Boon are among others who have appeared in Waterloo.

In the UK version of Bob the Builder, Morrissey also voices many cartoon characters, including Bob, Roley, Scrufty, Lofty, Mr. Fothergill, and Farmer Pickles, as well as Keith's role in the Dumping Ground.

Early life

Morrissey was born in Stafford, Staffordshire, on July 4, 1962, third of four sons of Irish parents who were both psychiatric nurses. Stephen and his younger brother spent the majority of their childhood in separate foster homes, with Morrissey spending the bulk of his time at Penkhull Children's Home under Margaret Cartlidge's care.

He attended Thistley High School in Penkhull, where he discovered a passion for acting after being inspired by teacher Sheila Steele. At the City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College, he studied for his A-levels. It was there that he realized that his time in care would come to an end, aged 17, with the bleak prospect of a transfer to a working boys hostel that might bring an academic and dramatic conclusion to his life. Through the family of Mark Langston, who aided Neil until his 18th birthday, a solution was found.

Morrissey's teenage years at Stoke Schools Theatre, Stoke Repertory Theatre, and Stoke Original Theatre were used to develop his skills and reputation as an actor through his youth. His application to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama culminated in an unconditional admission, opening the way for the next steps in his dramatic development. He was aided by the academy to secure an educational scholarship for his first year with friends, despite not having no educational grant or no living funds. During this period, he and a fellow student formed a street theatre company, earning them an agent and giving them a licence, which also meant they had to complete the necessary 40 hours of bookings in order to obtain a Equity card.

Personal life

Since being invited on an episode of Boon, Morrissey married Amanda Noar in 1987; the couple have a son who was born in 1989. In 1991, the couple divorced. When she too was working on Boon, he became engaged to actress Elizabeth Carling, whom he first met in 1989. They parted on good terms, and she appeared on Men Behaving Badly as a guest. Rachel Weisz's subsequent marriages have been chronicled by the British tabloids, including his appearance in My Summer with Des in 1998. They lived in Crouch End, north London, together.

Morrissey had an affair with Amanda Holden in 2000, resulting in her divorce in 2003 from comedian Les Dennis.

Morrissey has several tattoos. He applied needles and Indian ink to them according to one of their origins. His first name and blob on his left arm were his first name and a blob that was supposed to be his initials before it became infected, prompting him to use a tetanus jab. On his right is a squiggle that is a reversed version of The Saint logo. The tattoos were done by other boys at the children's house, according to Morrissey's. The boys there reportedly discovered that he did not have a tattoo and gave him the option of a tattoo or a beating. He went for the tattoo, but now regrets not taking the other option.

Morrissey received an honorary degree from Staffordshire University in 2006. He is a supporter of Crystal Palace FC. In 2011, he created Palace Ale, a real ale fan.

Neil Morrissey's Secret, a BBC Three parody show on April 1, 2006, revealed aspects of Morrissey's life that were otherwise unknown to the world at large. According to the report, he owned a house, wife, and two children in Jordan as well as a Botany degree, which he had studied for 20 years. These studies were instrumental in his quest for a breakthrough in anti-ageing. He created 'The Essence' cream, which contains extracts of a plant that was exclusive to a remote Jordanian village, according to the series. The cream's acolytes include celebrities like Jane Seymour, Gloria Hunniford, and Philippa Forrester. Morrissey appeared on the show as he carried out his study, which was both of study and crossing continents, and was financed by his lucrative acting career.

Morrissey's cream is only to have his family concerned about his health, his laboratory, and a trip to Jordan where he finds that the villagers, who had earned their trust through time spent with them, have left their houses due to the fall-out of his discovery. Despite the skepticism causing by this date as April Fool's Day, this hoax managed to convince some people that it was true.

Morrissey's admiration of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas prompted him to purchase several homes in Laugharne, including the Hurst Hotel, the New Three Mariners pub, and Brown's Hotel, which were listed for £670,000 in April 2004. It was revealed in October 2006 that Brown's Hotel had been put on sale to finance the Hurst Hotel's renovation and the expansion of the private members' club, Hurst House in Covent Garden, London.

The Hurst House group's assets went into a bundled administration in July 2008, despite delays in the construction of Hurst House-at-Mill, a luxurious hotel in Hertfordshire that opened in 2009. The funds were then purchased by new investors backing Roberts, bringing an end to Morrissey's relationship with Laugharne.

The Ye Olde Punch Bowl Inn in Marton, North Yorkshire, was part-owned by Morrissey. The Morrissey Fox range of real ale, which was developed by Morrissey and chef Richard Fox and is also in production, was born from this base. It was reported that his Welsh pub had failed and that the Ye Olde Punch Bowl Inn had been returned to the owner after just 18 months on October 22.

Morrissey avoided bankruptcy due to his failed company ventures, but he did a great job with IVA, but not before. Morrissey now has a number of pubs in Staffordshire, including The Plume of Feathers in Barlaston and more recently The Old Bramshall Inn in Bramshall. On June 28, 2018, the latter opened as a Neil Morrissey pub, which Morrissey attended.

After co-star Alexis Georgoulis was accused of rape, Love Rat, starring Neil Morrissey, has been reshot

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 9, 2024
Since his co-star Alexis Georgoulis was accused of rape, a big budget Channel 5 drama with Neil Morrissey had to be re-shot. Love Rat, which begins tomorrow night, was left in ruins after a court order that had shielded Georgoulis, 49, from being identified as a suspect in the 2020 attack in Belgium was suspended. More than five weeks of filming starring lead actor Georgoulis was shot again after being replaced by former Casualty actor Gerald Kyd, with the cast transported to the Cyprus location. Sally Lindsay, 50, a lead actress who plays Georgoulis, and a hotel employee who tries to convince her out of her life savings, was mainly affected by this. She enlists her ex-husband, played by Men Behaving Badly actor Morrissey, 61, to get her money back. Georgoulis, who is also a Greek MEP, was only exposed after the European Parliament voted to strip him of his parliamentary privileges last June.

Women Behaving Badly' by Caroline Quentin says she was not allowed to be made now, and that even 'past its sell by date' by the end of the series

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 14, 2024
In Men Behaving Badly, the actress appeared as long-suffering Dorothy alongside boorish boozy characters Gary and Tony, played by Martin Clune and Neil Morrissey. "There are a number of reasons why we shouldn't make it right now," she said, "I think it will stick in one's craw." I think it was getting really old by now,' I mean by the time this series ended,' she explains. I just want to say that you know, you plough the furrow, and there comes a point where you just go, 'I think we've done it now.'
