Neil Jackson Career

Career

Jackson wrote a musical and entered it into a national competition for young writers, but was unsure how to get into acting. It came in third place and attracted the attention of London writers, including Michael Armstrong. After graduating in 2002, he enrolled in Michael Armstrong's Acting Academy.

In the UK national touring production of Strindberg's classic Miss Julie, Jackson's first professional acting gig was in the UK. Jean, the lead character, was understudied, a part he took over in the West End cast later this year. Oliver Stone played Perdiccas in Alexander, the Hollywood blockbuster film starring Colin Farrell and Angelina Jolie, in 2004. He had a black eye and three stitches in his eyebrow when he first appeared, a hint he must have assisted him in his role as Stone cast him for the role on the set. Phil Wallis, a lottery winning chairman, was also in the British football drama Dream Team for a season.

In 2006, he appeared as "Donny" on American television's Cold Case as the perpetrator killed during a cave-in by his brother-in-law's brother-in-law's. Then The Passage, a Jackson-written film that was shot in Morocco and in which he appeared as a lead character alongside Stephen Dorff, was released in 2007. At the Durango Film Festival, it received the 2008 Jury Award. In 2008, he made additional TV appearances; on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as "Ian" on How I Met Your Mother; and as a wraith on Stargate: Atlantis.

In 2008, Jackson shot scenes in Panama for the Bond film Quantum of Solace, where he played Mr. Slate. Sasha Belov appeared in ABC Family's original series Make It or Break It. On the ABC show FlashForward, Jackson has also appeared as Lucas Hellinger, a Blackout conspirator. Harry Spargo played him as the chauffeur in Upstairs, Downstairs' BBC revival in 2010. In Fairbanks Productions' version of the classic tale in 2012, Jackson appeared in the lead role of Sir Percy Blakeney/The Scarlet Pimpernel.

As an ITV drama recreates the Yorkshire Ripper's reign of terror, one victim shares the blood-chilling horrors inflicted on his family by the serial killer

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 23, 2023
A woman who was a third-year fine art student days from her 21st birthday shares her close encounter with the convicted killer as the ITV drama recreates the terror inflicted by Peter Sutcliffe. Mo Lea was a student at Leeds Polytechnic University and just two days from her 21st birthday when Sutcliffe attempted to murder her in October 1980. It had been more than five years since his first known murder in 1975, and West Yorkshire Police were apparently at the height of the country's biggest manhunt.
