Natalie Palamides (born January 6, 1990) is an American actress, comedian, and writer.

Buttercup appears in Cartoon Network's 2016 Powerpuff Girls film.

The show was released in the United States on April 4, 2016.

During the Grampies' short run, she reprised her role as Buttercup in the Uncle Grandpa episode "Pizza Eve."

Early life

Palamides made comedic home videos in her backyard as a young child living outside of Pittsburgh. She'd do things in the corridors at school. Palamides, who attended the University of Pennsylvania, was inspired by the European clown tradition that her theater professor introduced her to. Natalie Palamides Career

Career

Palamides, who wanted to be a host on Saturday Night Live, moved to Los Angeles and joined the Upright Citizens Brigade after college. She began doing voice-over and commercial jobs. At the Idiot Workshop and the Lyric Hyperion, she also took lessons on clown performance. Palamides' characters were depicted in early sketches: fantasizing about eating salad from a man's pants; hebuffing the owner of Eggslut as an anthropomorphic egg; and insisting on being explicitly opposed to being essentially rejected. She began developing longer-form appearances in unusual costumes through her classes, fashion shows, and open mic shows.

Palamides turned her early egg appearance into an hour-long performance, with Dr. Brown from Lyric.

Nate's exaggeratedly masculine persona blossomed from her time with the Pig Iron Theatre Company to an hour-long performance, Nate – A One Man Exhibition. Members of the audience participate in activities such as wrestling Nate, with audience participation and sexual consent as the focus. It was funded by Amy Poehler's production company Paper Kite after winning the Total Theatre Award at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and announced on Netflix on December 1, 2020.

In the 2016 Powerpuff Girls animated television series, Palamides appeared as Buttercup.

In 2017, she was named Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.

In Progressive Insurance commercials, Palamides portrays "Mara" the main character.

Carrie Poppy also co-hosts the Disney-themed podcast Hidden Mickeys.
