She is the four-time Australian ballroom dance champion.

Lowe competed in and won Dancing with the Stars, with celebrity partner Anthony Koutoufides.

Early life

Lowe grew up in Sydney, New South Wales. Lowe's family lived next door to a ballroom dancing studio. Lowe, a 5-year-old girl, started dancing after her older brother and sister competed. Lowe went on to become a four-time Australian ballroom dance champion.

Personal life

Lowe revealed her interest in company director James Knibbs in October 2015. On a train ride to London, Lowe first encountered Knibbs. In July 2018, Lowe married Knibbs. In December 2019, Lowe gave birth to Jack, a baby boy.

In 2004, she appeared on Seven Network's Dancing with the Stars, as partnering artist Matt Shirvington. She then married Ian Roberts and won the 2006 competition with AFL footballer Anthony Koutoufides. Lowe met Home and Away actor Tim Campbell in 2008, and Danny Green in 2008 partnered boxer Danny Green.

Lowe appeared on the original British version of Strictly Come Dancing in 2009, partnering Hollyoaks' Ricky Whittle. Lowe, along with fellow newcomers Aliona Vilani and Katya Virshilas, were on the show. Lowe and Whittle were described by head judge Len Goodman as the most strong couple Strictly Come Dancing had ever seen after their first dance together before the judges. Nonetheless, Lowe and Whittle came in second place. Lowe appeared in the 2010 series partnering Scott Maslen. In the semi-finals of the competition, Lowe and Maslen were disqualified, as did Gavin Henson and Katya Virshilas.

Lowe will reprise her as one of the top dancers in the 2011 series of Strictly Come Dancing on June 15, 2011, according to the BBC. She was partnered by Audley Harrison (champion boxer) and the sixth couple to leave. Michael Vaughan, England's former captain, was placed seventh in the 2012 tenth series; they finished seventh. Lowe would return for the 11th series in 2013 but she sustained a foot injury while training and was dismissed by Aliona Vilani. Lowe appeared on the twelfth series as a partner to television host Tim Wonnacott. Lowe's 'The People's Strictly Come Dancing' special on March 2015 had a comedic relief special, as well as veteran Cassidy Little. She appeared in the thirteenth series main series of the show and was partnered with celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott. In the fifth week of competition, Harriott and Lowe were disqualified. In the 2015 Christmas Special, Lowe defeated Little again. She was partnered with Olympic long jump champion Greg Rutherford in Series 14. Lowe resigned from the show after seven seasons on May 4, 2017.

Lowe joined the cast of Burn the Floor, a ballroom dance performance performed in 2005. Lowe appeared on the show for five years. Lowe launched FitSteps, a dance inspired fitness program, in March 2013.

Greg Rutherford MBE, the fifth contestant to be confirmed to attend the ITV show, wanted to learn some basic skills on the ice rink.
