Early life
Lowe grew up in Sydney, New South Wales. Lowe's family lived next door to a ballroom dancing studio. Lowe, a 5-year-old girl, started dancing after her older brother and sister competed. Lowe went on to become a four-time Australian ballroom dance champion.

Career
In 2004, she appeared on Seven Network's Dancing with the Stars, as partnering artist Matt Shirvington. She then married Ian Roberts and won the 2006 competition with AFL footballer Anthony Koutoufides. Lowe met Home and Away actor Tim Campbell in 2008, and Danny Green in 2008 partnered boxer Danny Green.

Lowe appeared on the original British version of Strictly Come Dancing in 2009, partnering Hollyoaks' Ricky Whittle.
