Nat Sakdatorn (born January 24, 1983) is a Thai singer-songwriter, actor, blogger, and the winner of the 4th season of reality talent competition show True Visions' Academy Fantasia.
Life and career
Nat Sakdatorn was born in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Darin Sakdatorn is the oldest brother of his grandfather, who is referred to as "Dow." He attended primary school at Montfort College in Chiang Mai. He began to study at the Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey, in the United States. At Harvard University, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics. He auditioned and became a member of Harvard's oldest co-ed a cappella group, the Harvard Opportunes. He later took music at Berklee College of Music.
After he sent a demo CD of his self-composed songs to the Sleepless Society album's designers, he had a chance to work in the music industry before Sakdatorn's entry into the Academy Fantasia competition. In 2006, he performed the backing vocals for the Thai duo Golf-Mike's... and wrote the tune for Kalorin Nemayothin's in 2007.
Sakdatorn is a native of Thailand, English, and Japanese. He can also play the piano. Many of his followers refer to him as "Stitch" rather than "Nat."
Sakdatorn auditioned for the fourth season of True Academy Fantasia, singing Clash's 'I Want You,' the winner of first season "Dooteang's Sound EFX and Westlife's cover version of Debby Boone's You Light Up My Life. He made it to the final audition round to complete the show and then two audition weeks to be one of 12 finalists in the house and then named champion of the season. He chose Tum Somprasong' and You Light Up My Life once more in the final week.
Sakdatorn and his fellow AF4 contestants on X-Treme Army released a joint album titled X-Treme Army X-Treme Army to begin their musical careers together. As POP Army and a group song, Army Energy, Sakdatorn performed a solo song and a trio song, as well as Methus Treerattanavareesin and Surasak Chanasriyotin. The 12 AF4 singers began a national concert tour, X-treme Army in Concert, which was held in Bangkok on October 20, 2007), Surat Thani (October 20, 2007), and Udon Thani (November 3, 2007). Sakdatorn and his AF4 colleagues traveled to Beijing on December 15- 19, 2007 with THAI Exclusive Trip 'X-Treme Army, launched by True Fantasia, Thai Airways International, and Bank of Ayudhya. They all went to Beijing with their fanclubs. Sakdatorn and his colleagues then went on to perform at the Pepsi Everybody Move Concert (February 16, 2008) and numerous mini-concerts. He, along with the other male singers from AF4, became a host for Pepsi.
The 1st runner-up of Academy Fantasia season 4, Sakdatorn and Vontongchai Intarawat, joined the Sudsupda magazine project, which means Smart Man Do Good). On March 23, 2008, they held a mini charity concert in plaza square between Siam Discovery and Siam Center, where they donated the whole amount to the Cardiac Children Foundation of Thailand.
Sakdatorn first spoke about his debut album in a variety show on channel 5, "I Can Love You More" (Rak-Dai-Eek). Chestha Yarosake wrote and produced the single (except for the English rap part, which is written by Sakdatorn himself) and Arranged by Banana Boat. All You Need Is Love is a compilation that was released on April 25, 2008. Sakdatorn has appeared on several television shows and radio stations to promote his album and singles. For which Sakdatorn produced music, the second single from this album is titled "Kam-Sam-Kam," indicating, "Three Words."
Sakdatorn, Destongchai Intarawat, Rutchapon Yamsang, Wiwit Bawonkrikritik, Pakamon Bunyapuit, and Academy Fantasia season 3 winner Kiatkamol Lata were among the 38 participants in THAI Exclusive Trip with AF in Japan on May 16-21, 2008. True Fantasia and Thai Airways International arranged another unique trip for Sakdatorn's and Intarawat's fanclubs on June 26, 2008, which included their first album-opening mini concert outside of Thailand due to high demand.
Cartier selected Sakdatorn to be a brand ambassador for Thailand's Love collection on June 4, 2008. Bank of Ayudhya selected Sakdatorn and Intarawat as brand ambassadors for the Krungsri Yellow Points campaign on July 14, 2008.
Sakdatorn was crowned the winner of the Dutch Mill Top Teen Idol competition on July 25, 2008. Sakdatorn, a Dutch Mill Top Teenage Idol, had shot a TV commercial for Dutch Mill, which went on television in November 2008.
Sakdatorn appeared in a musical performance as Prince Yamadori in August 2008 (a play based on Madame Butterfly). This is True Fantasia's second play, and there are two cast sets. Intarawat is another cast member who plays Sakdatorn. Sakdatorn and Intarawat covered the show (best known as Sukiyaki) and launched a music video on July 4, 2008. Intarawat and Sakdatorn opened their first full live concert on October 30, 2008. The concerts were originally presented as a mix of live concert and reality show. There were 4 rounds of concerts with approximately 4,000 people in attendance.

The Legend of Re Kai Fun CHALIANG is the first jukebox musical based on songs performed by a Thai band. Tohklom, Workpoint, and True Fantasia co-produced the play. The musical performance was supposed to re-stage from January 15 to December 17, 2010 after receiving a warm welcome from the audience.
Sakdatorn moved to Tak province in order to raise funds to renovate from October 10 to 12. "Joh Jai TV program" is taught in three schools and is part of the "KRUNGSRI Yellow Points" campaign. Sakdatorn not only raised funds, but also assisted with the school's renovations.

Sakdatorn appeared in "Once in a Lifetime concert produced by Phusit Laithong" at the Thailand Cultural Center on February 20, 2010 – "The one you love" and "I need to know."
