Mykelti Williamson Life

Michael T. "Mykelti" Williamson (born March 4, 1957) is an American actor best known for his appearances in Forrest Gump and Con Air, as well as the television shows Boomtown, 24, and Justified.

Gabriel Maxson appeared in Denzel Washington's critically acclaimed film adaptation of August Wilson's Fences in 2016, reimagining his role from the 2010 Broadway revival. Among his other notable roles include Free Willy, Heat, Lucky Number Slevin, Three Kings, Three Kings, Black Dynamite, The Final Destination, ATL, Species II, and The Purge: Election Year.

Early life

Williamson was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and he died before. He is the son of Elaine, a licensed public accountant, and a father who served as an Air Force Non-Commissioned Officer. He is of African American and Black Foot Indian origins. In the Blackfoot dialect, his first name refers to "spirit."

Williamson began performing at the age of nine. He performed on Soul Train as an alternate member of The Lockers troupe, as well as Fred Berry (star of TV sitcom What's Happening!!)). Williamson and his family immigrated to Los Angeles at the age of nine. At Los Angeles City College, he studied television and film. He audited acting classes at USC under Dr. Frank X. Ford Williamson's tutelage, and was later transferred to Gene Evans Motion Picture School in San Jose, where he earned his certificate in Cinematography/Film Production.

Personal life

Williamson was married to Miami Vice star Olivia Brown from July 2, 1983 to 1985, and they divorced in 1985. He married Cheryl Chisholm in 1989, with whom he had his first child, Phoenix.

He has been married to Sondra Spriggs since April 26, 1997; the two children, Nicole and Maya, have two children together. During the filming of TNT's production of Buffalo Soldiers, the two were married.

Williamson was charged with attempted murder in 1998 after stabbed his ex-wife's boyfriend. He was cleared of the allegations.

Career

Williamson began acting as a child. Starsky and Hutch, Father Murphy, Hill Street Blues, Miami Vice, China Beach, and Midnight Caller were among his first television appearances. Donovan Aderhold, the program manager of the syndicated television series The New WKRP in Cincinnati, was probably his best-known television role. Williamson appeared in PBS's television show The Righteous Apples. The show focuses on the work of five Boston-area high school musicians who are struggling to help people in need. Williamson, the group's lead singer, appeared on the program, although he was still a child at the time.

In 1988, he made his film debut in Streets of Fire (1984). His appearances include Wildcats (1986), Magic Mile (1989), Forrest Gump (1994), God of the Game (1999), Today or Consequences (1999), William Friedkin's First 100 Years (1999), The Final Destination (2009), and The Purge: The First Kings (1999)

In the Academy Award-winning 1994 film Forrest Gump, Williamson is best known as Private Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue. He has also received raves when he appeared in the HBO film Soul of the Game (1996).

Williamson has appeared in television and film on several occasions. Ali (192001), The Assassination of Richard Nixon (2004), Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2006), ATL (2006), Convergence (2015), and Fences (2016). He was Juror #10 in the 1997 TV movie reimagining 12 Angry Men (picking up Ed Begley's role). He appeared in a short-lived TV series remake The Fugitive (CBS, 2000–2001). After one season and a total of 22 episodes, CBS cancelled the show after one season.

In 2002, he co-starred as Detective Bobby "Fearless" Smith in the critically acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful crime drama Boomtown.

He appeared in seven episodes of CSI: New York as Chief Sinclair, reuniting him with his Forrest Gump co-star Gary Sinise between 2007 and 2009. In season 8 of 24, he appeared as Brian Hastings, the special agent in charge of the New York CTU.

Ellstin Limehouse played him on FX's drama Justified as Ellstin Limehouse. In the third season of ABC drama Nashville, Terry was also cast as a homeless man. Since being named Survivor in October 2016, Williamson has appeared in Designated Survivor. He appeared on Chicago P.D. in 2017.
