EasyJet founder Terry Jones' allegations that one of his companies had the name first appeared, the company said it appeared on the label SEVEN YEARS before their trademark was registered

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 4, 2023
The Leicester five-piece took to social media to blast the easyJet airline spin-off and reveal a timeline of their music career, which they claim began in 2015. They ended their most recent statement with: 'Sorry, who is the brand thief here?' EasyGroup has filed court papers arguing that the band is profiting from its "unique brand" to sell products to its customers. The band had warned that if they were going to change their name or embarking on an expensive court fight, they would have to choose either changing their name or engaging in an unaffordable litigation contest.

Court documents reveal easyJet owner is suing indie band Easy Life for 'damaging' their reputation after lead singer shouted 'f*** the Tories' at festival and had to be carried off stage at gig after downing whisky

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 3, 2023
The owner of a British indie band is being sued after it was discovered that its singer yelled 'f*** the Tories' at a festival and became so inebriated he had to leave stage at a gig. EasyGroup, the airline's parent company, has filed court papers alleging that Leicester-based band Easy Life is now profiting from its 'valuable brand' to sell merchandise to its customers. Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou's company is seeking a'substantial' amount of money for infringement of merchandise, including a poster that featured an image of an easyJet plane, as well as t-shirts that sport a symbol that matches the airlines. Since releasing a 2020 EP titled 'Who gives a f***', the band has been accused of risking damage to the image of easyJet's parent company, easyGroup, repeatedly yelling on stage and urging fans to stay behind and take drugs with them backstage, the band has been accused of risking damage to the band's reputation. The allegations were 'hilarious,' and Easy Life said they apologised to fans who had "bought gig tickets and ended up on a cheap flight to Tenerife,' saying they are "certain in no way has it ever affected their [easyGroup's] operation.'
