Mulan Jameela (born August 23, 1979 in Garut), also known as Mulan Kwok, is an Indonesian female soloist.
Music career
Mulan began her career as a café performer and performed in various bands. Her fame came when she established a duo Ratu with Maia Ahmad in 2005. In August 2005, the pair released Ratu & Friends, an album on the Sony BMG label. Mulan's name as one of Indonesia's most popular singers, "Teman Tapi Mesra," was a hit on the first single of the album. Despite being ranked number one in Indonesia for several weeks, the single has also been a hit on various radio stations in Malaysia and Singapore. Ratu is the most influential female group at the time, with over 400,000 copies (certified Double Platinum) and establishing Ratu as the most influential female band at the time.
