Dynamite is an English rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer.
She is the recipient of two Mercury Music Awards, two Brit Awards, and three MOBO Awards.
Early years
Niomi Arleen Daley was born in Kentish Town, North London, to a Jamaican father and a Scottish mother. She is Akala's older sister.
Career
Ms. Dynamite (originally Lady Dynamite) was first recognized for her vocals on the UK garage underground track "Booo!" "The game, "which was regularly played on London pirate radio stations and was later released as a single," the band said. Ms. Dynamite was discovered by Richard Forbes ("DJ Sticky") at a West End club while working at RAW FM. All major British labels followed her, and eventually she was signed via her account Bigga Beats to Polydor Records, where she met producer Salaam Remi, who nurtured her talent.
In 2002, she released her debut album, A Little Deeper, which featured hit songs "It Takes More" and "Dy-Na-Tee." The album was released in the United States in 2003, earning critical acclaim.
