Personal life
Duma was born on 10 March 1985 in Surgut, Russian SFSR, shortly after her family moved there from Ukraine. Her father, Vasiliy Duma, was a senator in the Russian Federation until 2011. From 1997 to 1998, he headed a department of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy and later was president of LUKOIL-Transnefteprodukt company.
Miroslava was married to Aleksey Mikheev, a Russian entrepreneur. They have three children.

Duma graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) in 2008 with a Master’s degree in International Business and Business Administration.
Career
Duma was a Harper's Bazaar editor. She began freelance writing for publications, including Vogue, Tatler, Forbes Women, and Glamour (Russian translations).
Since 2007, she has divided her professional time between Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States, heading to research labs and universities, developing collaboration with scientists, researchers, and biotechnology experts, and bringing their technologies to market.
Buro 24/7, a website dedicated to art, architecture, film, fashion, music, and style, was founded in 2011. Buro 24/7 gained a majority stake in the fashion publication System in July 2017.
Duma cofounded The Tot, a children's fashion business, in 2016 with Nasiba Adilova.
Future Tech Lab (FTL), an investment and technology firm, was founded in 2017.
