Fury as Mayor Eric Adams replaces Milton Glasers iconic I Love NYC logo with 'inclusive' We Love NYC

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 22, 2023
On Monday, Adams and Gov. Kathy Hochul unveiled the scheme, which was meant to go with a campaign to'cut through divisiveness and negativity' that came with the pandemic. For a 1977 campaign to promote tourism in the state, Milton Glaser created the original I Love NY logo. The I with We and a C have been replaced by designers as part of the upgrade, but scores of locals have resisted at the update to the beloved classic. The campaign and layout took more than a year to produce, with nearly $20 million in contributions from hundreds of companies such as Amazon, Google, Macy's, Madison Square Garden Entertainment, and TikTok to jump-start the city's new media campaign. Many people have slammed the new logo in comparison to the old one, with one saying, 'don't mess with perfection.'
