Mila Kunis Life

Milena Markovna "Mila" Kunis (born August 14, 1983) is an American actress.

She and her family immigrated from Soviet Ukraine to the United States in 1991 at the age of seven.

She was soon discovered by an agent after being enrolled in acting classes as an after-school activity.

She appeared in numerous television series and advertisements before landing her first role in the television series That '70s Show (1998–2006).

Meg Griffin has been a character on the animated film Family Guy since 1999. Kunis' breakout film role came in 2008, when she played Rachel in the romantic comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

She gained even more critical esteem and praise for her role in Black Swan (2010), for which she was rewarded with the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actress and Best Supporting Actress, as well as nominations for the SAG Award and the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Max Payne's other notable films include action films Max Payne (2008), The Book of Eli (2010), the romantic comedy Friends with Benefits (2011), as the Wicked Witch of the West, and Ted (2012), Bad Moms (2016) and its sequel (2017).

Early life

Milena Kunis was born in Chernivtsi, a city in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union (now Ukraine). Elvira's mother, a physics teacher who works at a pharmacy, and Mark Kunis, her father, are both a mechanical engineer and a taxi operator. Kunis has an elder brother, Michael. Her grandparents were Holocaust survivors. The Russian mother tongue and the common language in her family are both Russian. Kunis claimed she did not speak Russian at the time she was there, and that she did not speak Ukrainian. They didn't teach the Ukrainian language in school until the children were in second grade, the first time she moved to the United States. She said in 2011 that her parents had "amazing jobs" and that they were "not wealthy," and that the family was "not fine"; they had to leave the Soviet Union because Mila and her brother had "no future" there. Her family and her family immigrated to Los Angeles, California, with US$250 in 1991, when she was 7 years old. "That was all we were allowed to take with us." My parents had excellent jobs and degrees, but they were not transferable. We arrived in New York on Wednesday, and by Friday morning, my brother and I were at school in Los Angeles.

Kunis comes from a Jewish family and has cited antisemitism in the Soviet Union as one of several explanations for her family's relocation to the United States. Although religious persecution was banned in the Soviet Union, she has stated that her parents "raised [her] Jewish as much as they could." Kunis was enrolled at Rosewood Elementary School on her second day in Los Angeles, but she didn't know a word of English. "I blocked out the second grade completely," she later explained. I have no recollection of it. I use to talk to my mom and Grandma about it. It was because I cried every day. I didn't know the history. I didn't know the people were. I didn't know the word. Imagining being blind and deaf at age seven,' I imagine being blind and deaf at the start of my essay.' And that's kind of like moving to the United States."

She attended Hubert Howe Bancroft Middle School in Los Angeles. When filming That '70s Show, she used an on-set tutor for the majority of her high school years. She briefly attended Enriched Studies (LACES), but when that school was insufficiently flexible about her acting commitments, she transferred to Fairfax High School, graduating in 2001. She attended University of California (UCLA) and Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles for a short time.

Kunis has reported that a genetic DNA test revealed her ethnicity as 96% to 89 percent Ashkenazi Jews, a cultural forensic examination performed by the university.

Personal life

In 2002, Kunis began dating actor Macaulay Culkin. Kunis denied rumors that the couple were dating during their relationship. Kunis and Culkin had ended their friendship, according to Kunis' publicist, who said, "The break was amicable, and they remained close friends." Kunis began dating her co-star Ashton Kutcher from The '70s Show in April 2012. They got engaged in February 2014 and married in Oak Glen, California, over the first weekend of July 2015. The couple have two children: a daughter born in October 2014 and a son born in November 2016. The family lives in Beverly Hills, California, where it was designed by the couple and architect Howard Backen.

In January 2011, she revealed her struggle with persistent iritis that had caused temporary blindness in one eye. She had surgery that solved the issue a few months before. Kunis also have heterochromia iridum, a condition in which the irises are of various hues. Her left eye is brown, while her right eye is green. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reported on September 14, 2011, along with other famous celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson and Vanessa Hudgens, that Kunis' cellphone and email addresses had been investigated. Christopher Chaney of Jacksonville, Florida, pleaded guilty to nine counts of computer hacking in federal court.

Kunis was escorted by Sgt. In Greenville, North Carolina, Scott Moore to a U.S. Marine Corps Ball. While serving with the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment in Afghanistan's Helmand province, she accepted Moore's invitation in July after it was posted on YouTube. The Marine Corps' 236th anniversary was commemorated at the Portsmouth International Marine Corps' 236th anniversary.

Kunis is a supporter of the Democratic Party. "The way Republicans attack women is so offensive to me," she said in a 2012 interview. And the way they talk about faith is offending. I may not be a practicing Jew, but I'd like to hear about Jesus all the time. Kunis revealed in 2017 that she had been giving Planned Parenthood a monthly donation in Mike Pence's name. Kunis and Kutcher developed Quarantine Wine in April 2020, with 100% of the proceeds going to support during the COVID-19 pandemic. Outside Wine, a blend of red wine, was launched in the United States the following year, and proceeds from it will go to The Skate Park Project and Thorn.org.

Kunis and Kutcher launched a gofundme page in 2022 to assist refugees fleeing the conflict in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. They met their $30 million dollar target as of March 18, 2022. The couple have promised to give the charity $3 million from their own funds.

Mila Kunis Career

Career

Kunis' parents were enrolled in acting classes after school at the Beverly Hills Studios, where she met Susan Curtis, who would become her manager. On her first audition, she was offered the opportunity to work in a Barbie commercial. She did a commercial for the Lisa Frank product line a few weeks after. Her first television appearances on Days of Our Lives began in 1994 and then she appeared on Days of Our Lives and then on Baywatch for the first time. Walker, Texas Ranger, and Martin's Neighborhood appeared on television shows 7th Heaven and Blackbird, As the young Gia Carangi, as well as supporting roles in the films Santa with Muscles, Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves, and the Angelina Jolie film Gia.

Kunis unsuccessfully auditioned for the role of a Russian Jewish girl who immigrates to America in the film Make a Wish, Molly at the age of 10. Rather, she was cast in a secondary role of a Mexican girl. Kunis appeared in the Fox sitcom That '70s Show in 1998. All who auditioned were required to be at least 18 years old; Kunis, a 14-year-old, told the casting directors that she would be 18 but not tell when. Despite knowing it later, the designers retained Kunis as the right match for the role, even though they later discovered it out. The '70s Show ran for eight seasons.' She received two consecutive Young Artist Awards in 1999 and 2000 for her appearances in a Comedy TV Series.

Kunis replaced Lacey Chabert in the role of Meg Griffin on Fox's animated sitcom Family Guy, created by Seth MacFarlane. Kunis gained the role after auditions and a small rewrite of the story, in part due to her appearance on That '70s Show. Kunis was called back by MacFarlane, who told her to talk slower as she auditioned for the role. He then told her to return to her old age and enunciate more. MacFarlane recruited her after she said she had it under surveillance. "Mila Kunis brought it in a variety of ways, but it was much more accurate for the story," MacFarlane said. I think Lacey did a fantastic job, but Mila was an interesting thing about Mila, which was something that was also normal about Mila. She was 15 when she started, so you were listening to a 15-year-old. Adult characters will appear in animations oftentimes, and they will always be like Saturday morning voices. They tend to be pushed as a result. She had a natural talent to Meg that made what we did with her character actually work." In 2007, Kunis was nominated for an Annie Award in the category of Voice Acting in an Animated Television Production. She appeared in Family Guy Video Game, a family-friendly video game, that was also released in 2006. Kunis described her character as "the scapegoat."

She appeared in Get Over It with Kirsten Dunst in 2001. She topped it off in 2002 by appearing in American Psycho 2 as a sequel to the 2000 film American Psycho. Critics dismissed American Psycho 2's film, and Kunis herself expressed indignation over the film's appearance. Kunis appeared in the film version of Tony n' Tina's Wedding in 2004. Despite the fact that the film was shot in 2004, it did not have a theatrical release until 2007. The majority of analysts did not like the film, which must have Rotten Tomatoes' permission for 25%. "Chrisis would be much better off pretending the movie never happened in the first place," a DVD reviewer said.

Kunis co-starred with Jon Heder in Moving McAllister in 2005, but it was not announced theatrically until 2007. The film received mostly critical feedback and had only been running in theaters for a brief two weeks. She appeared in After Sex alongside Zoe Saldana, who had also appeared in Get Over It. Boot Camp (originally named Straight Edge) began in October 2006, she started filming Boot Camp (originally titled Straight Edge). The film was not available in theaters in the United States, but it was released on DVD on August 25, 2009.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall, co-produced by Judd Apatow, Kunis appeared as Rachel Jansen in the 2008 comedy film Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The role, which she gained after unsuccessfully auditioning for Knocked Up, called for improvisation on her part. The film received accolades and became a commercial success, grossing $105 million worldwide. Kunis' appearance was well-received; Joe Morgenstern of The Wall Street Journal praised her "fresh appearance and focussed energy," while James Berardinelli wrote that she is "adept with her appearance and acknowledges the concept of comic timing," additionally. She had been nominated for a Teen Choice Award. Kunis credited Apatow with assisting her in expanding her career from The '70s Show.'

Kunis played Mona Sax, an assassination attempt, alongside Mark Wahlberg in the action film Max Payne, based on the video game of the same name. Kunis completed her training in weapons, boxing, and martial arts for her job. Max Payne was very profitable at the box office, grossing $85 million globally, but critics were dismissive of Kunis, with several commentators referring to Kunis miscast. Travis Estvold of Boise Weekly wrote that she had been "horribly miscast as some sort of undersized, warble-voiced criminal boss." "Mila just bowled us over," Kunis said, was not a natural choice, but she just wears Mona so well. We needed someone who would not be just a nemess or a jumbled frog; we needed someone who could be both a sarcon and a diplomat; we needed someone who would be able to be both a victim or a foil to Max. Mila just knocked it out of the park," I think. For her part in the film, she was nominated for another Teen Choice Award.

She appeared in the comedy film Extract in 2009 starring Ben Affleck and Jason Bateman. The film attracted mostly positive reviews, and it grossed $10.8 million at the box office. Kunis "brings her name to within screaming distance of credibility," Roger Ebert said, although skeptical of the film itself. Director Mike Judge said one of the things that was surprising to learn about Kunis was his ability to make a reference to the cult animation film Rejected. "You could imagine that Mila would cross paths with her in the real world." Judge wanted to place Kunis in the role of Cindy in Extract: "I just thought, this girl is amazing." She wanted to do it, which was amazing." "I'm a huge fan of Mike Judge's From Office Space," Kunis said, "I'm a big fan of your guys from Office Space." I told them that I would do whatever was required to be in this business, like craft service or, more specifically acting.

In the 2010 film The Book of Eli, she appeared alongside Denzel Washington. Despite mixed critiques, the film did a good job at the box office, grossing over $157 million worldwide. Kunis' performance was lauded by film critic Richard Roeper, who called it a "particularly strong piece of work." Several other writers were equally positive, including Pete Hammond of Boxoffice magazine, who wrote that "the demands of the role are still within her reach," and Colin Covert of the Star Tribune said that she "generated a spark and brought a sense of joy to her character," developing an independent female character that is not always in need of rescuing." Claudia Puig of USA Today, among other commentators, she was miscast, noting that "she seemed as if she stepped in from a Ray-Ban commercial." Kunis earned her second Teen Choice Award nomination for her appearance. Kunis appeared in a minor role in the 2010 comedy film Date Night, starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell. She has received several accolades for her work. Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune said her appearance with James Franco helped save the film and gave it "a shot in the arm."

Kunis was nominated for multiple accolades, including her first Golden Globe, for the 2010 film Black Swan. Natalie Portman played a rival ballet dancer to the main character. Kunis was based on her role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and on her co-star and close friend Natalie Portman's recommendation. She underwent a training program that included cardiovascular exercise, a 1,200-calorie a day diet (she regained 20 pounds after filming ended), and ballet lessons for four hours a week. During this demanding work, she sustained ankle ligament damage and a dislocated shoulder.

Black Swan was widely praised by critics and was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture. The film earned over $106.9 million in the United States and Canada, while overseas, it earned over $329 million. Kunis' results were favorable, with Kirk Honeycutt of The Hollywood Reporter saying, "Kunis makes a good substitute to Portman, both lithe and dark, but also a smirk of self-confidence in place of Portman's wide-eyed trepidation." "I'm the cool, throaty Kunis who is the surprise package here, watching and describing her co-star in a way that we're as uncertain as Nina's ingenuousness." Kunis' appearance at the Venice International Film Festival earned her the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor or Actress, as well as her Golden Globe Award and Screen Actor Guild Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress. She was also honoured with the Best Supporting Actress award at the 37th annual Saturn Awards for her appearances.

Kunis appeared alongside Justin Timberlake in the 2011 romantic comedy Friends with Benefits. Will Gluck said he wrote the story with Kunis and Timberlake in mind. Benefits with Benefits made a success in the box office, grossing over $149 million globally, and received mainly critical feedback from critics who praised Kunis' chemistry. "Ms. Kunis is quickly proving that she's got a gift that keeps giving to mainstream romantic comedy," Manohla Dargis of The New York Times said, "her enthusiasm is so invigorating and broad, and her presence is so full that she fills the screen."

Kunis co-starred in Ted, her most commercially successful film to date, with Mark Wahlberg co-starring Kunis. Seth MacFarlane, a Family Guy producer, wrote the film. Kunis played the mother of Wahlberg's character. Kunis was too young for the role when MacFarlane first suggested the project. However, the film remained in production for several years, and when it was finally ready to begin filming, he wound up casting her. Ted has received generally positive feedback from observers, and it has been a commercial hit, grossing $549 million around the world. Kunis "brings some lovely subtle grace notes to a role that could have simply been 'the pushy girlfriend,' according to Drew McWeeny of HitFix.'

In the Walt Disney Pictures' prequel, Oz the Great and Powerful, Kunis played Theodora, the youngest of three witches, opposite James Franco. In the 1939 film, Margaret Hamilton, the original Wicked Witch of the West, dedicated her role in the film. Critics gave the film and Kunis' appearance mixed feedback. Kunis "walks away with the accolades as the wavering witch Theodora's heartbreak brings another, less exciting depth to this 3D spectacle," Empire Magazine's Kim Newman wrote. Kunis' appearance, on the other hand, seemed to be in a state of limbo. The Great and Powerful was a commercial hit, grossing over $493 million around the world.

Kunis appeared in Blood Ties with Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, and Marion Cotillard, which was also in 2013. The film premiered at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and in 2014, it was limited to release in the United States. Blood Ties received mixed feedback. Kunis appeared in the comedy The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, alongside Robin Williams and Peter Dinklage. The film was limited in terms of theatrical and VOD broadcasting, and it received poor feedback. Third Person, a Paul Haggis-directed film, premiered at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival and attracted mostly critical feedback. Any commentators praised Kunis' appearance; Deborah Young of The Hollywood Reporter said that her role gives her "enormous space to express her talent" and she "gives her tale a shot of raw energy." Kunis, along with her colleagues, and her coworkers announced the establishment of Orchard Farm Productions in October 2014. The company is based in Australia, where the company is based. The team will design and produce TV programs for broadcasting and cable under the terms of the agreement. Kunis co-starred with Channing Tatum in the science fiction film Jupiter Ascending, directed by the Wachowskis in 2015. Despite the fact that the film earned over $183.9 million on a $176 million budget, it received mainly critical feedback, with a general consensus that the production was "narratively befuddled" and a "visually thrilling misfire."

Kunis co-starred in the comedy Bad Moms, which was released on July 29, 2016. Critics lauded the cast and humour, but critics who praised the film and comedic arts mixed it, but critics who did not agree that it could "take full advantage of its resources." "Kunis has the ability to be both sympathetic and amusing, and she has a knack for comedic timing," Entertainment Weekly's Chris Nashawaty wrote. With a budget of $20 million, the film made more than $183.9 million. STX Entertainment reunited Kunis with her co-star Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn for a sequel called A Bad Mothers Christmas, which was announced on November 1, 2017. It went on to get mixed reviews and a global sales of over $130 million with a budget of $28 million.

Kunis appeared in the comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me in 2018. The film received mixed reviews and went on to gross over $75 million worldwide with a budget of $40 million. In the film Four Good Days, Kunis co-starred with Glenn Close. Principal photography began in Los Angeles in September 2019 and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 25, 2020. Kunis was praised for her role, with Pete Hammond of Deadline Hollywood describing her as "a revelation" in the role, while Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times remarking her "best work she has done." In 2021, she co-starred with Allison Janney and Regina Hall in Breaking News in Yuba County, which was shot in Mississippi. Critics were critical of the film's debut on February 12, 2021, it received critical feedback. Kunis will appear in The '90s Show,' on April 30, 2022.

Kunis produced and appeared in a Netflix film version of Luckiest Girl Alive, based on the Jessica Knoll novel of the same name in 2022. On September 30, 2022, Luckiest Girl Alive was released in select theaters before Netflix's subscription service was released on October 7, 2022. Critics gave the film mixed praises. Kunis was recognized for her role with Erick Massoto, according to Collider, "hypnotic and keeps you on the edge of your seat at every turn." At the 48th People's Choice Awards, Kunis was also voted for The Drama Movie Star of 2022.
