Michael Riley "Mike" Mogis (born May 16, 1974) is an American engineer-engineer and multi-instrumentalist who, with his brother A.J., is an American producer/engineer and multi-instrumentalist who performed on May 16, 1974.

Recording Studio (previously known as Dead Space Recording and, earlier, Whoopass Recording).

In downtown Omaha, Mogis is now run by ARC (Another Recording Company). Mike has engineered, produced, and appeared in many of the Saddle Creek line's, including Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley, Cursive, The Good Life, Lullaby for the Working Class, Jenny Lewis, Tilly, and The Wall and The Catapult.

Rachael Yamagata is also producing an album. He has been a member of Bright Eyes since being a member of both Lullaby's Working Class and We'd Rather Flying, mainly playing guitar, but he also plays mandolin, banjo, pedal steel, glockenspiel, and hammered dulcimer, among other instruments.

On his debut album Falling Off the Lavender Bridge, he worked with Lightspeed Champion (aka Devonte Hynes), a former member of Test Icicles.

He is a member of the Monsters of Folk supergroup. Stella and Riley are his two teenage children.

Stella and his wife Jessica appeared on the Bright Eyes album Digital Ash in a Digital Urn. Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott, both of Bright Eyes, wrote the music for The Fault in Our Stars, based on John Green's novel of the same name.
