Miguel José Ferrer (February 7, 1955 – January 19, 2017) was an American actor and voice actor.

Early life

Ferrer was born in Santa Monica, California, on February 7, 1955, the fifth of five children of Academy Award-winning Puerto Rican actor José Ferrer and actress Rosemary Clooney, who was of English, Irish, and German descent. Maria and Monsita Ferrer's children, as well as brothers Gabriel (later the husband of singer Debby Boone) and actor Rafael were among Ferrer's siblings. Letty (Leticia) Ferrer, his older half-sister, died in Uta Hagen after his father José's previous marriage to Uta Hagen. He was the cousin of actor George Clooney and the nephew of journalist Nick Clooney. Ferrer was born in Hollywood and Beverly Hills and attended Beverly Hills High School. He tended to music as a youth, and on Keith Moon's Two Sides of the Moon, he played the drums. Ferrer studied acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse after high school.

Bill Mumy, Ferrer's brother, portrayed him as a drummer in the series Sunshine, his first television appearance. Ferrer was also Mumy's bandmate in Seduction of the Innocent, a band that also included Steve Leialoha and Max Allan Collins. Ferrer and Mumy co-created Comet Man and Trypto the Acid Dog plus co-wrote the Marvel Graphic Novel The Dreamwalker, sharing a love of comics.

Ferrer began his acting career in the early 1980s, appearing on episodic television as a guest actor. On Magnum, P.I., he was the younger version of his father's character. In 1981, the first two countries were in Iraq. In 1983, he was given a small part as a waiter in The Man Who Wasn't There. As the United States' resident, he appeared in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984). Excelsior's chief is a lieutance officer. He directed the Mark Medoff performance "When Ya Coming Back, Red Ryder?" at the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami, Florida, in 1984. Ferrer appeared on three primetime TV shows simultaneously in the early 1990s: as D.A. In Shannon's Deal (1989–1991), Todd Spurrier plays Beau Jack Bowman (1990–1991) as the Cajun cop in Broken Badges (1990–1991) and Albert Rosenfield, a cynical, abrasive FBI forensics specialist in Twin Peaks (1990–91). Ferrer recalled Rosenfield's role in the film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992). In the failed 1997 television pilot, Justice League of America, Ferrer played "The Weatherman" as a supervillain. In the Superman: The Animated Series episode "Speed Demons," he portrayed a similar character, the Weather Wizard. Ferrer appeared in another Superman: Animated episode, "A Fish Story," in 1999. Ferrer was nominated for "Best Spoken Word Album for Children" in Disney's The Lion King II, "Simba's Pride Read-Along" in the same year. He appeared in the song I Will Remember as the protagonist of the American rock band Toto's album "I Will Remember," as well as actor Edward James Olmos.

Ferrer appeared on the small screen Dr. Garnet Macy in the television crime/drama series Crossing Jordan (2001–07). Ferrer made his New York debut in The Exonerated's off-Broadway production in August 2003. Ferrer appeared in the video game Halo 2 as the voice of the Heretic king. Ferrer appeared in the television series Robot Chicken (2006) and American Dad! (2007). He appeared on NBC's Bionic Woman series as Jonas Bledsoe, and in 2009 he appeared in another NBC series, Kings as a military commander of Gath.

He appeared in the 2013 film Iron Man 3 as Vice President. Ferrer revived his role as Albert Rosenfield in the 2017 revival of Twin Peaks.
