Mick Schumacher Life

Mick Schumacher (German pronunciation: [mk u]max; born 22 March 1999) is a German racing driver who competes for Haas in Formula One.

Schumacher began his career in karting in 2008 and then progressed to the German ADAC Formula 4 by 2015. He moved to Formula 2 in 2019 after winning the 2018 FIA F3 European Championship, and he claimed the 2020 Formula 2 Championship. Michael Schumacher, Ralf Schumacher's uncle, and cousin of David Schumacher are among the seven-time Formula One World champions.

Personal life

Schumacher was born in Vufflens-le-Château and grew up in Gland. Michael Schumacher, a seven-time Formula One World Champion and Corinna Schumacher, is the son of West riding European champion Corinna Schumacher. Ralf Schumacher, his uncle, is also a retired racing driver and former Formula One racer. David Schumacher, his cousin, is a racing fan as well. Schumacher is Sebastian Stahl's step-nephew and grandson of Elisabeth and Rolf Schumacher.

On December 29, 2013, Schumacher was skiing with his father when Michael sustained life-threatening brain injury. Mick first spoke out about his father in March 2017, referring to him as "my idol" and "my role model."

He drove his father's championship-winning Benetton B194 before the 2017 Belgian Grand Prix. In a protest against his father's championship winning cars, the Ferrari F2004, he rode another of his father's titles, Scuderia Ferrari's 1000th Formula One race at Mugello, wearing his father's helmet for the occasion.

Schumacher cites chess as an integral part of his mental preparations for the F1 Championship. "I feel like these games bring them right back," he said, because you must always be switched on with your mind." "I always want to be mentally prepared for every challenge that comes."

Mick Schumacher Career

Career

Schumacher began his motorsport career in 2008. He began his career under the pseudonym 'Mick Betsch', citing his mother's maiden name in order to avoid notice due to his famous father.

Schumacher competed in the ADAC Kart Masters' KF3 class between 2011 and 2012, placing 9th and 7th respectively. He was 3rd in 2011 and 2012 in the Euro Wintercup of the KF3 class, and in 2012 was 3rd in the KF3 Rating DMV Kart Championship. He came in third place in the German Junior Kart Championship and the CIK-FIA Super Cup KF juniors in 2013. Schumacher introduced the word 'Mick Junior' in 2014 and began competing in International and National Junior Championships, finishing the season second in the German Junior Kart Championship as well as in the European and World Championships. Despite the fact that he did not compete in karting under his real surname, the international media paid attention to his karting exploits.

He completed test drives for Jenzer Motorsport in a Formula 4 racing car at the end of 2014. Schumacher started racing in formula classes for the first time in 2015, competing for Van Amersfoort Racing in the ADAC Formula 4 for the first time. Schumacher stayed in ADAC Formula 4 in 2016, but moved to Prema Powerteam, a team that is best known for its close connections to the Ferrari Driver Academy. He competed in the Italian F4 Championship and finished runner-up in both championships to Joey Mawson and Marcos Siebert respectively.

Schumacher made his first appearance in Formula 3 by participating in the MRF Challenge, a India-based sport. He competed in the upper Formula 2000 class and finished the series in 3rd place, winning four titles, nine podiums, and two pole positions. Schumacher finished second behind Harrison Newey and Joey Mawson, but Jüri Vips and Felipe Drugovich were two of his future Formula 3 and Formula 2 rivals.

Schumacher made his FIA Formula 3 European Championship debut with Prema Powerteam in April 2017. He finished the season in 12th place, his highest finish being a 3rd place at Monza. Schumacher was the lowest finisher of the four Prema races, but he was also the third-best-placed rookie in the championship.

In the 2018 race, Schumacher rode for Prema. He had a slow start to the season, winning his first race of the year at Spa-Francorchamps, almost halfway through the year. He ranked in 10th place in the championship before this competition, 67 points behind championship leader Dan Ticktum. Schumacher won seven more titles, five in a row, in the second half of the season. He ended the season as champion, 57 points clear of Ticktum, 2nd-placed, taking eight victories, fourteen total podium finishes, seven pole positions, and four fastest laps.

Schumacher and Sean Gelael appeared together in the 2019 FIA Formula 2 Championship. Schumacher began tenth and finished eighth in the first round of the season, defeating Nobuharu Matsushita on the final lap, giving him back-grid pole position for the sprint distance, in which he came in sixth. Schumacher started from seventh in the feature race at Baku, but was forced to leave after a spin. In the sprint distance, he climbed from 19th to finish fifth. He failed to score points at Barcelona after crashing in the first race and earning a time penalty for an illegal overtake on Jack Aitken in the second. Schumacher crashed with multiple cars in a feature race at Monaco, bringing out the red flag. In either case, he would not be able to gain a point. Circuit Paul Ricard has been involved in a collision with teammate Gelael in the first race and sustained a puncture in the second, resulting in a double retirement.

Schumacher stalled on the grid and finished in 18th position before a charge through the field in the sprint race brought him to fourth place. Silverstone finished sixth in a sprint race point-finish, winning for the sixth time. He came in 8th at the feature race in Hungary, winning the sprint race with reverse-grid pole and holding the position to win for the first time in Formula 2. Schumacher finished sixth at Spa-Francorchamps, but both races were postponed due to a crash that killed Anthoine Hubert. He came from a power issue but then came in fifth in the sprint championship, finishing sixth in the fastest lap at Monza. He retired from both racing in Russia due to an engine failure in the first and a collision with Giuliano Alesi in the second. Schumacher achieved top-place finishes in Abu Dhabi, including 9th and 11th places. He finished the season in 12th place in the championship with 53 points, many ahead of teammate Gelael, who was a win and one fastest lap.

In the 2020 FIA Formula 2 Championship, Schumacher joined Prema and fellow Ferrari Driver Academy member Robert Shwartzman. He was forced to leave early in the Austrian feature race while battling Callum Ilott for the race lead. His fire extinguisher died in the second round of the sprint championship on the same circuit as he entered the second round. Schumacher recovered with a double podium in Hungary. He then went on a run of 5 podiums from Spain to Monza, with a win in the Feature race at Monza, as well as the Championship lead at Mugello. He won the feature race in Russia and came third in the sprint race, which was postponed due to a collision between Luca Ghiotto and Jack Aitken.

He started in tenth and finished fourth in the Feature race in the Bahrain Round. In the Sprint Race, he came in fifth place. Callum Ilott was able to bring the deficit down to 14 points going into the final round on the Outer Track at the same location, as a result.

Following an incident with Roy Nissany, Schumacher earned a career-worst 18th in Sakhir. With the fastest lap, he made a good recovery run to his sixth position. This meant the points disparities stayed the same going into the final race. Schumacher flat-spotted his tyres when running for the lead in the sprint championship, prompting him to flee from Ilott for the first half of the season. He pitted for softs after a few more lockouts, effectively ending his career out of the game. Ilott's tires didn't fare well, and he eventually fell out of the points, which was a result of a lot of hard hitting and defending. Schumacher was named as the 2020 FIA Formula 2 Champion, according to this result.
