Michelle Gayle Career

Musical career

Gayle performed with R-MOR-FUS, a rap group that performed at various clubs and low-key venues before she found commercial success. Gayle signed with RCA Records in 1993, when she was still on the cast of EastEnders. She debuts her single "Looking Up" at number 11 on the charts. "Sweetness," her best-selling single to date, topped the UK Singles Chart by 16 weeks and was certified silver, with more than 100,000 copies sold. Gayle achieved more success in 1994 with the number-26 hit "I'll Find You,"; in 1995 with the number-16 "Freedom"; and the number-11 "Please Just Be With You" sampled The Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" and Chic's "Good Times." These five singles were taken from Gayle's self-titled debut album Michelle Gayle, which was released in 1994 and ranked at number 30 on the UK Albums Chart and was rated gold.

Gayle appeared on "The Gift of Christmas" for the first time in 1995, as well as other acts such as Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, E.Y.C., Sean Maguire, Deuce, Ultimate Kaose, Let Loose, MN8, Dannii Minogue, and many more. It reached its high point at number 9.

Gayle's sixth album, "Do You Know," debuted on number six in 1997. "Sensational" was the first song to appear on the charts, and it was followed by "Sensational" to number 14. Both singles were taken from Gayle's second album, Sensational, which featured many artists, and was recorded in both London and Los Angeles. Despite Sensational being lauded by critics, the album had disappointing sales. It debuted at number 17 on the album charts, but it fell out of the top 40 the following week. Gayle left RCA due to poor album sales. Gayle received three BRIT Award nominations over the years, two in 1995 for 'Best Female Artist' and 'Best Female Artist,' as well as one in 1998 for 'Best Female Artist.'

Gayle joined EMI following her release from RCA. She released an album on that label, but before the album was released, she had left the organization due to an artist roster change. Gayle moved to the West End and appeared Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast after leaving EMI in 1999. Gayle began establishing her music production firm M Media Productions after an extended absence from show business to look after her son, Isaiah. She has appeared on other artists' albums, including those of Ivan Matias, Me One, Shabba, and Lemon D.

Gayle accepted an invitation to appear in Reborn, a televised singing competition in the United States, in the hopes of resurrecting their musical careers. Gayle finished second in the final, second in the event, behind Tony Hadley as the runner-up. Gayle began focusing on new content after her success on the show.

Gayle reimagined herself as a UK R&B musician, and she worked on material for her third album with Terence Dudley, who is best known for appearing on 50 Cent's album Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Gayle appeared on several TV shows promoting the debut of her latest single, "Gotta Be Me," at the end of 2004, but the album was not available until it was announced. She confessed that she did make a new record in an interview with The Voice newspaper in April 2006, but that her record company (N2 Records) died.

Gayle was one of the participants of Eurovision's pre-selection process – Your Decision, which determined who the United Kingdom would send to the Eurovision Song Contest in Serbia on May 24th, 2008. Gayle co-wrote her album "U Make Me" with Rashelle Davies and Morten Schjolin, describing it as "pop in essence, but with a very cool 60's vibe to it." In the public vote on March 1, 2008, Gayle came second, behind Andy Abraham.
