Michelle Collins Life

Michelle Danielle Collins (born 28 May 1961) is an English actor and TV presenter best known for her appearances in the British soap operas EastEnders and Coronation Street. Collins appeared on BBC soap EastEnders from 1988 to 1998, with a two-year break between 1990 and 1992.

Stella Price appeared on Coronation Street from 2011 to 2014.

Real Women (1998–99), Sunburn (1999–2000), and Two Thousand Acres of Sky (2001–03) are among her other television appearances.

Early life and education

Collins was born in Hackney, east London, to Mary, a Welsh mother, and a father of English and Flemish roots. Her Flemish grandfather was from Antwerp and had immigrated to the United Kingdom in 1915, when she was five years old. Their mother Mary brought her and her elder sister Vicki up in Highbury, London. When Collins was 14 years old, she returned to university to obtain a law degree. Collins, a member of the Woodcraft Folk Club, was a member of the Woodcraft Folk Society in the 1970s and visited Romania with the group.

She studied drama and theatre at O/A-level at Royal Court Activists and Cockpit Youth Theatre from the age of 14, as well as Kingsway Princeton College, where she studied drama and theatre at O/A-level.

Personal life

Collins has a daughter by ex-partner Fabrizio Tassalini, Maia Rose (born 29 September 1996).

Collins admitted in 1998 that she attempted suicide in Cyprus while filming Sunburn, being distraught by the end of her friendship with Tassalini and feeling job anxiety. She had an overdose of sleeping pills but later woke up and asked her costar to drive her to the hospital.

Collins had an amicable friendship with Tassalini, who lived close by, and they raised their daughter together until he died in 2014. Collins revealed in April 2022 that she was engaged to Mike Davidson, her ten-year husband. They married in August.

In August 2014, Collins was one of 200 public figures to sign a letter opposing Scottish independence in the run-up to the independence referendum in September.
