Wallace in the HBO series All My Children (2003–2011), actor Oscar Grant in the Rocky sequel film Creed (2013), boxer Adonis Creed (2015), and main antagonist Erik Killmonger in Black Panther (2018), are among the many actors to have written and directed by Ryan Coogler.

Early life

Michael Bakari Jordan was born in Santa Ana, California, to Donna and Michael A. Jordan on February 9, 1987. Jamila's sister, Jamila, and Khalid's younger brother, Khalid, who signed to be a football player at Howard University in 2010. Jordan's family lived in California for two years before moving to Newark, New Jersey. He attended Newark Arts High School, where his mother works and where he played basketball.

Personal life

Jordan has lived in Los Angeles since 2006. He grew up in a religious household and believes himself to be spiritual. He lives with his parents in a Sherman Oaks house that he bought in 2018. Jordan is also a fan of anime, particularly Naruto: Shippuden and the Dragon Ball series.

Lori Harvey, the actor's daughter of comedian Steve Harvey, began dating model Lori Harvey in November 2020. In December 2021, Jordan revealed with The Hollywood Reporter that he "finally found what love was" with Harvey. It was reported in June 2022 that the couple had ended their marriage.

Before deciding to pursue a career as an actor, Jordan worked for many companies and brands, including Modell's sporting goods and Toys "R" Us. In 1999, he began his career as a professional actor, appearing in single episodes of Cosby and The Sopranos. When he first appeared in Hardball, which starred Keanu Reeves, it was his first principal film role. In 2002, he attracted more attention by playing Wallace in HBO's first season.

He appeared on All My Children in March 2003, replacing Chadwick Boseman, who was playing Reggie Montgomery, a struggling teen, until Jordan was released from his service in June 2006. Besides guest starring appearances on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Without a Trace and Cold Case, Jordan's other appearances include guest appearances on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Without a Trace and Cold Case. Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, appeared in Fantastic Four in 2015. Criticism had a 9% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the film was a bust at the box office, with critics largely dismissing it. Jordan, on the other hand, returned to critical acclaim in his second Rocky film, Creed, which co-starred Sylvester Stallone, later this year. Jordan is gearing up for his role as a boxer in Creed by one year of intense physical preparation and a strict low-fat diet. During filming, he did not have a body double, and he was "routinely bloodied, bruised, and dizzy" when fighting scenes were shot.

In 2016, Jordan appeared in NBA 2K17 portraying Justice Young, a teammate of the player in the game's MyCareer mode. Jordan was cast in a supporting role in the upcoming Netflix superhero film Raising Dion in October 2017. In January 2018, Jordan appeared in Marvel's Black Panther as the villain Erik Killmonger; this was Jordan's third collaboration with Coogler. Jordan appeared in Fahrenheit 451 with Michael Shannon and Sofia Boutella later in 2018. HBO Films produced the television film. In Creed II, a sequel to Creed (2015) and the eighth installment in the Rocky film series, Jordan reprised his role as boxer Donnie Creed. Creed II was released in the United States by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer on November 21, 2018. The film received largely favorable feedback from critics and then went on to debut to $35.3 million in its first weekend (a five-day total of $55.8 million), the most notable debut for a live-action movie over Thanksgiving.

Julian Chase appears in Rooster Teeth's animated film Gen:Lock, which he also co-produces through his production company, Outlier Society Productions, since January 2019. In a legal drama called Just Mercy, which Jordan co-produced, he played attorney Bryan Stevenson. In December 2019, the film, based on a true life tale, received critical attention. Jordan appears in Without Remorse, based on Tom Clancy's book, as John Clark, a former Navy SEAL and director of the elite counterterrorism unit Rainbow Six. Originally scheduled for publication on September 18, 2020, it was announced on April 30, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe animated anthology film What If...? B. Jordan reprises his role as Erik "Killmonger" Stevens. In the episodes "What If... Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark?" "What If.. the Watcher Broke His Oath?" In Space Jam: A New Legacy, Jordan appears on a cameo.

In Wrong Answer, a film based on the Atlanta Public Schools cheating scandal, he is set to reteam with Coogler for the fourth time. Jordan is also expected to appear in a second version of The Thomas Crown Affair. He'll also appear in A Journal for Jordan, directed by Denzel Washington as a soldier who "kept a journal full of poignant life lessons for their newborn son, Jordan," while deployed overseas. Jordan is also supposed to appear in Blood Brothers, the vampire film. Outlier Society, his production company, has signed a first glance with Amazon and is also working on Val-Zod, an HBO Max series starring a Black version of the DC Comics character Superman.

In addition to producing and reenacting his starring role as boxer Donnie Creed, Jordan is set to make his directorial debut with Creed III, a sequel to Creed II. On March 3, 2023, it is expected to be published. With Will Smith, he will produce and star in the sequel to I Am Legend.
